Trump to Meet With NRA Regarding No Buy List

Post by ShotgunBlast »

Is The Donald looking to broker a deal to soften the NRA's stance against denying due process and finally embrace a "no buy" list or is he just intrigued by the idea, but will consult with his chosen experts to explain to him why that's a bad idea? Time will tell.

Either way, in an interview today Clinton replied "Welcome to the cause."

Hey, I'm not an American! Why can't I have a gun?

Is this a surprise to anyone? He's not even the nominated candidate and he's ready to bargain away our rights.

You can bet your last banned magazine that he'll sell out gun owners the first chance he gets. Not that he ever will get the chance, but this should prove once and for all that Trump is no different than Hillary when it comes to the Second Amendment.

Well at least we now know where The Donald stands in regards to this meeting.

"Donald Trump outlined his intention to convince the NRA that people on the terrorist watch-list should not be able to purchase a gun."

Due process be damned.

The differences between Trump and Hillary are getting smaller and smaller....

Are there any sane people left in politics.... at all? I mean, even the "outsider" thinks denying people due process is okay and he's at the top of the list of candidates? Really?

There's still one candidate that believes in the entire Bill of Rights - Gary Johnson.

Ron Paul was last seen nodding in approval.

He's just another Libertarian candidate with single digit support.

Easy to dismiss Johnson, but he has a few things going for him in 2016 that he didn't have in 2012:

1. He's actually being included in most national polls and has cracked double digit support. He's also polling higher than HRC among independent voters and has double digit support among millennials. Polls are also showing that he is pulling from both Democrats and Republicans despite all the fear-mongering from both parties that he'll be a spoiler for the other.

2. He has a stronger running mate in Bill Weld. A ticket with two two-term Republican governors in states with high a Democrat voter base. That's not too shabby. Weld has already had more national TV time just in the few weeks of receiving the nomination than the previous VP nominee had the entire election cycle.

3. CNN is hosting a town hall with the Libertarian ticket this Wed during prime time. That has never happened before. More eyeballs will be able to see Johnson/Weld and learn more about them. As long as they ask questions with substance about policy instead of the generic "who would you rather vote for Trump or Hillary" garbage, it should be some good TV time.

Despite all of the challenges of getting exposure last cycle, Johnson still got 1% of the popular vote against a candidate that many people still liked and another candidate that people were lackluster about, but still showed up to vote for. This cycle against two candidates that a lot of people are not happy with, results should be even better. Even if he doesn't win, if he can get 5% that'll set up an even better campaign in 2020 because he'll meet ballot access requirements in many states and will also have access to federal election grants.

And probably he will have a better score than ever (probably more than 10%), but it will be not enough, unfortunately.
Remains to be seen if we will steal more from democrats or from republicans.

OK, so the Libertarian candidate de jure pulls in 11% vs. the usual 5%. That's a good thing, I guess.

Meanwhile, Trump is tanking in the polls while Hillary is being unofficially crowned queen. Might as well bet on the long shot.
