Gun you wouldn't want to obtain used

Post by SHMIV »

As the title says, a gun that you wouldn't want to aquire in used condition. Probably wouldn't much care for a new one, either, come to think of it.

I hear that the Russians found that it ended up to be a crappy weapon.

I don't buy used weapons typically... but the list of guns I would not buy is endless.

I would only consider buying a used weapon if it is from someone I know, know to be truthful and known to take care of their stuff. Come to think of it... that goes for any used item.

I can tell you the worst gun I ever owned was a Colt All American 2000 9mm striker fire poly pistol. HUGE piece a junk.

I bought a PT-145 used for $200 and took it up to Gore to shoot, after 500+ rounds I could not make it have a failure. I put that ugly SOB in my glove compartment and carry it everywhere I go.

Ya'll talking "Used", I'm just thinking "HOLY CRAP! I would LOATHE to have a ND with that thing!"

As to Taurus POS? I have a PT111 in 9mm, with a trigger soooo freaking long, and heavy, you would NEVER have a ND! Like others? $200. Works like a champ.

I know what y'all mean. I've got a Taurus PT 145 Millenium Pro that I bought because it was cheap, held 10 rounds of .45ACP, and I wouldn't have minded losing it to the evidence locker if I ever had to use it in self defense. It ain't pretty, but it ain't a bad pistol, either - - - except that the trigger feels like you have to pull it about a yard and a half. Ruins the pistol,

Heard it called a "trigger like a Texas road". Bumpy, gritty, and goes on for miles...... :hysterical:

It's true!

However since I didn't give a rip about it? I strip it down to mechanics, polished some of the parts, and it's smoother, but by no mean "Hair"...

Long ain't the word, I'd have to pull it, and start pulling the trigger an HOUR before I need too!

I have had pretty good luck buying used firearms . I have bought many over the years ....lots of shot guns and revolvers. Most used purchases are fairly good deals and can usually make a few dollars on most deals. I hear from most sellers of semi auto pistols about ejecting problems or miss firing . 90% of the time it's an ammo problem ! I bought a Sig 1911-.22 last year from a guy for $225 , he claimed he took it back to the dealer and to a gunsmith too. When I got it the first thing I did was disassemble , clean and lube it a little. 3 mags. Came with it and I found he was trying to shoot .22 Long not LR. We shoot CCI and Remington ammo in all 3 of our Sig's and hardly never have any issues !

What I'm trying to figure out is, did anyone besides Rev actually open the link? Or, did I just stick a giant elephant in the room that everyone is ignoring, lmao.

I opened the link and got bombarded with a flood of pop-ups and some background app got flagged by my antivirus software for trying to hi-Jack my OS, so I never tried again and have no idea what the article is about.

Oh, wow. I got none of that on my phone. Sorry about that.

The article was about a KGB rectal carry pistol, which is why I wouldn't want a used one.

Ha. Yeah, there's a pic, fortunately the pic doesn't show the thing "holstered", though.

Cold war era spies must have been stuck in some interesting situations, if that thing was considered a necessity.

I was bored, the other day, and did a Google search for "Cheap A$$ Guns". Google showed me a Russian rectal carry pistol. Guess I got what I asked for, lol.

Hmmm. I opened the link and got none of the crap.

That said, let's hand them out to Democrats with finely tuned triggers. Maybe when they "holster" them they'll go off and blow their brains out!

Quite a few years ago, back in Ohio, a chiropractor I was acquainted with told of being approached by an older couple that were patients of his about offering a .38 caliber revolver for sale.
They knew that he was a sport shooter and a gun collector and told him that their son, Jeff, was in need of cash and had asked them to sell the gun that they were storing for him.
He said he didn't need it but offered them a fair price for it assuming that he could use it for trading stock.
That's how he ended up owning a gun once owned by Mr. and Mrs. Dahmer's son Jeffery.
IIRC he said that he traded the gun away before Jeffery was caught and made national news.
I do remember saying that he had kept a record of the make, model, and serial number of the gun and was watching to see if it appeared for sale at any of the local gun shows.
