Kearneysville Appleseed April 16

Post by FiremanBob »

I'll be teaching at this one-day Appleseed in Kearneysville, WV not far from Harper's Ferry. It would be nice to meet some fellow VGOF members there.

Bob; how have the turnouts been lately for the Appleseed events?

Strong, but less than full except for the Fairfax events at the NRA range. We really need to spread the word more widely.

I'm working on a media strategy. Any ideas from knowledgeable members in that profession would be welcome.

We have grown the instructor corps in VA dramatically, sometimes having a 2:1 student/instructor ratio. Students now get a very high level of one-on-one coaching throughout the event.

At the most recent Appleseed in Montpelier, a beginner who had never before shot a rifle was the "project" of one instructor, who got her up to 185 on the AQT and a cleaned Redcoat by Sunday afternoon.

Attending an Appleseed Event is on our "Bucket List"....We have been reading up on Appleseed for a while now. Carol works with a man that use to attend quite a bit, but life has gotten in the way as of late. He and his wife have been to our Range a few times and Appleseed always come up. Maybe soon we all can attend!

Plenty of events near Hopewell, in the August-December time frame. Two shoots at Cavalier (Montpelier) in August and September, and a couple shoots at Black Creek (Mechanicsville) in October & December.

And there's also an active Groupon discount...
