We have been inundated with telemarketer, fund raiser and scam calls and finally found a beautiful solution. For $49 bucks at Amazon I bought a Sentry 2 call blocker. And the damn thing works beautifully!
Takes a while to enter in your "white list" of family, friends, etc. but boy is it worth it. If a call comes in from an unrecognized number it will give them a message (all silent on your end) that unsolicited calls are not accepted. This eliminates robocalls immediately. "If you need to speak with someone in the household, press one," and the call comes through with a strange gong like ring. If it is indeed an unwanted call all you have to do is press the black list button and you'll never hear from it again.
Best 49 bucks I've spent in a long while. Highly recommend it. You must have caller ID.

Re: Sweet Bliss - Finally
A buddy of mine handled a sales call in an amusing manner, once. The sales call occurred, of course, just as everyone was sitting down to dinner. After informing the caller that he was, indeed, very interested in whatever the caller was selling, he explained the dinner situation, and explained that they were about to ask the blessing. The he told the salesman that he was putting the phone on speaker, and said "Since you are our guest, we would like for you to say Grace."
The caller stammered something about calling back later, and hung up.

I looked up the Sentry 2 call blocker on Amazon. I'm considering it, thanks.

If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.

I know what you mean, I have the 'Mr Number' & 'Whitepages ID' apps on my cell phone. No telemarketer or any other suspicious calls get past them on my phone.ShotgunBlast wrote:Heh, landlines.

ORS, I see that both of those apps sync your contacts. What do they do with that information?

That's true, although I'm not sure what actually happens to that information. Not that I have any top secret contacts on my phone but it is something to be aware of.Swampman wrote:ORS, I see that both of those apps sync your contacts. What do they do with that information?

I just do what my friend did when a stalker kept calling, when someone calls that shouldn't I answer the phone and blow a loud whistle into the receiver and hang up.
