Re: Gun Show
I go to the gun show when I know exactly what I want to buy and I've researched online for the best price. I go up and down every isle to check if they have what I want and at what price. Once I've cased the whole show, I either go to the table with the best price, or go home and order online.

I still go to a few a year. There are some vendors that I like dealing with that have unique accessories and better than on-line pricing. Plus it gets me out of the house and I get to hold and play with guns.
The vendors I deal with are all also brick and mortar stores that use the shows to get a broader customer base.

Re: Gun Show
Just an update: I did go with my wife and we had a good time at it. There were some vendors who were overpriced on their handguns, but some vendors prices were comparable. We actually bought a Walther P380 with laser sight for my wife for $350. I have looked around and think we got a good deal on it. It wasn't too bad and we plan to go to the next one.
Re: Gun Show
What I see at gun shows is 2 distinct categories of sales. New and vintage. The vintage stuff is difficult to compare as there may not be much to compare with. The new seems so competitive the prices are about as good as they are going to be whether you are at a show or their brick-n-mortar business.
I have asked about trying to establish some loyalty by suggesting Ill buy everything I purchase from you but expect a discount in return. But it just won't happen. So my loyalty goes to me. I buy from who offers the best deal.

Re: Gun Show
There are quite a few brick, and mortars going to the gunshows now to expand their customer base.
Trader Jerry's is one that immediately comes to mind.
Sometimes he's the lowest, sometimes he's not. Sometimes the shark go 'way, sometimes he wouldn't...
And you see them prices, and your eyes Roooooollll on back up in yer head. Dead eyes, like a dolls eyes.
(sorry, watches "Jaws" again this weekend. Love that movie)

Re: Gun Show
The deals are always better the closer it gets to closing time. Stop by on Sunday afternoon and see which vendor wants less stuff to pack up.
Re: Gun Show
maybe, but likely no.dusterdude wrote: i find a deal at a gunshow?
The vendor has another table at another show in a week or two. They are boxing up 100's of other items so packing up one less thing didn't make much of a difference.
All the shows I've worked on the other side of the table, there were no 4pm Sunday deals.
If you want a deal, you're most likely to find it via a private seller on this site, or vaguntrader, or gunbroker.

I concur with JDonovan. You'd be better off online...
It's an "upper" no real issues finding one.
