Carry at polling locations

Post by OakRidgeStars »

Since most of the polling locations around here are at schools, I won't be able to OC or CC while voting. Has anyone carried in the past while voting, or will you be carrying tomorrow?.

Down here in the sticks we use fire departments for polling places, I reckon because the outhouses are too small. Yep I've packed while voting.

I had to do an emergency absentee vote at the Municipal Center here in VB >>>Carried concealed and never gave it another thought other than how good it feels to be voting in an election for a candidate that I support while carrying my legal concealed handgun,,Is this a great State or what?

That's almost all I could think about this morning as I entered the GFSZ.

And then to have a choice of a "moderate" conservative or a "moderate" liberal for just about every office.

Yay, we get vanilla or chocolate. Even Baskin Robbins has better selection.

Yes, I still voted. It was disappointing, but I did it anyway... kinda like visiting the in-laws at Christmas. You don't do it for them. You do it for her.

In this case "her" is Virginia... and the hopes that we'll have at least some semblance of a leader in Richmond when the republic collapses.

Hey Travis, its damage control now just to keep the socialists out of office. The hard part comes tomorrow when we start cleaning up the mess and holding our new leaders to their promises.

True and we need to keep that pressure on them to follow through!! No more apathetic attitudes and letting them just do the job,, Stay on top of them and let em know we are watching and we are speaking out at every turn

I did this morning at the Doswell fire house. I also had issues un-related. I will copy and paste my complaint letter I sent to many places this morning.

I went in to vote this morning at the Hanover fire department which is considered the 202- Blunts district and I have never felt so violated in all my life. Upon giving the women at the desk my license to verify who I am so I could vote, and than finding out that I had been marked in the computer as already voted. Upon notifying them that I had not, they made a phone call and was told that I had to use a provisional balled, and I was assured that my vote would count. From what I understand they are pushing this off as a glitch in that this is the first time they have used this computer program, but giving the questionable facts of this administration and Acorn I really don't know what to believe. it seems as though I may have been the first, but after me it seems as though others were also having this problem. Something as well that I didn't like about the provisional ballad system is that the envelope you seal it in has a place for you to put your social security number, and is noted with out it your vote will not count, not that I am so sure it will any way because it seems that if you make the slightest mistake they would find a reason to disqualify it any way.

Interesting and I say that because when I registered in VA I didnt see anything for party affiliation nor is it noted in my online record. Do they know which party we are affiliated with? If so, how?

I'd like to know how this electronic system provides for unbiased, accountable, publicly-viewable HAND-TALLY recounts?

On a related note, one gentleman voted and then some old man in some pseudo-official capacity told him to exit the polling centre. The fellow said "I am, I'm going this way" to which the old man responded (rather curtly) "No you aren't, the exit is this way."

The fellow proceeded to scowl at the old man and walked out the way HE WANTED TO. I kinda chuckled to myself at the ludicrousness of the situation and how the old man thought he could tell someone where to go and when.

I don't think they do, than again with all my letters of complaints to this crappy administration I am sure I am on top of the radical no fly list. Even if they didn't know someone’s voting preference it still works out for the opposing party. If there is an extra vote it could be counted as such, if there are apposing votes one would cancel out the other.

That issue of them telling you that you had already voted and then forced to vote provisional is something to look at very seriously,,The ACORN nut may or may not have hatched here in VA ,but any glitch in the system that could affect the outconme is a warning flag IMHO..

Glitches, are caused by incorrect programming, whether it be on purpose or accidental. I wonder which this is?

Glitches are also caused by incorrect use of the system which are never perfect.
