Fredericksburg Area OathKeepers
Rick here, having sworn to defend the Constitution of the United States of America on more than one occasion - upon enlistment and re-enlistment in the US Navy, and as I continue to profess my allegiance to the United States of America and the laws and regulations that our Forefathers authored when our great country was founded - now and forever against all enemies foreign and domestic, so help me God.

I too took that same oath, twice. during enlistment into the Navy and on re-enlistment..Now I and people like me are being called the taliban by our elected officials for those beliefs. When do we declare our enemy domestically? Now? Or do I just say they are ignorant and uneducated, while they control the very switches that make this country tick.

Unfortunately the government put a loophole in the military oath "obey the orders of the president and the officers appointed over me - subject to the UCMJ, etc, etc." That takes interpretation of that oath IMHO out of the service members hands. The standard oath of office for civilians is different which is why I like it so much. There are no qualifiers which IMO leaves interpretation up to the person taking the oath. Here's a copy if you want to reaffirm a new oath.AXEL wrote:I too took that same oath, twice. during enlistment into the Navy and on re-enlistment..Now I and people like me are being called the taliban by our elected officials for those beliefs. I (state your name) do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God

I didnt swear an oath to support some bogus document. My oath is to the Constitution written by our Founders and ratified by the fledgling Republic. As a matter of fact, the only amendment I agree with outside the original 10 in the BOR is 22 (presidential term limits). You can chunk the rest.GS78 wrote:what if they change the constitution....
