What can be done here? Truly. Legislatively....etc etc etc..... It looks like two heads need to roll. The AG and the commissioner of the state police (different than the capt of police).

Not going to happen. They are acting within the law. Problem is, the law is flawed and needs correcting.

He should be impeached....but that won't happen. McAwful has done tons to deserve impeachment, but there he is at the capitol.

This just in from VCDL
Here are the states where we won’t be able to carry using our Virginia permits after February 1st:
Delaware, Florida, Louisiana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Wyoming

My writing to the Governor this evening:
"
Thank you Governor, in yours and your AGs move to make us safer.
Knowing that Drug dealers and those that have violence-related crimes cannot conceal carry in VA is comforting - but really, why would they go through the legalized process and background checks in the first place? Those type of people would just assume violating the law at their pleasure; meanwhile you have further stripped rights away from your very citizens.
This was nothing but a ploy to honor your NY favorites, and it just cost me several hundred dollars in licensing to maintain my "right" of the Second Amendment while traveling down the eastern seaboard.
You and your AG inform us that the states you've removed allow the above mischevious types of people to receive CCWs - yet, as I'm applying for Florida - one of the states under scrutiny - it's asking me the very same questions to ensure I am not one of those types. Further proof that your actions are serving some other purpose.
Good to know where my taxes are going - to further restrict the rights of Virginians; and at a time when our personal security matters most. So you tell me, will you offer me protection when I am at the rest areas in South Carolina to Florida on I-95? Will you guarantee my family personal immediate physical protection via law-enforcement?
I am a veteran of this great country, a Virginia resident of 20 years, enjoying the freedoms it had to offer, and I feel completely betrayed and swindled by your actions.
Not a happy constituant am I.

Nice....I may borrow that and rephrase. There may or may not be a phrase that includes if you or the governor ever want to run for so much as dog catcher anywhere in my area that I vote, rest assured not only will I not vote for you, I will actively support anyone and everyone who is your opponent with my time talents and money.

He'll never read it. His people have a checklist with two columns; support and not. The admin will put a check in the box that a negative message was received and the message will be deleted. And, he will likely never ask for a count of checks.

BTW all - here is Florida's questionnaire - one of the states that fail the audit. And yet - it is close to Federal standards and includes Fingerprinting. Obviously a sham

They won't even be able to change the law, as they cannot override the governors signature. Friggin annoying!

Mike... I looked at the VA Application. It asks the same questions...
http://www.vsp.state.va.us/downloads/SP ... 1-2013.pdf
It might even be a little less specific than Florida. WTH is the Governor trying to pull?

Agree. Plus they have the mandate for training or military equivalent as VA. They made this move all too obvious as to the purpose.MarcSpaz wrote:Mike... I looked at the VA Application. It asks the same questions...

This article lists the states as well as some who will no longer be recognizing Virginia. Luckily I'm still covered for those states with Utah, Pennsylvania and Florida licenses.
I moved here from the northeast in May. Talking to a neighbor the other day, I said in 20 more years, VA will be like NY. He looked like he wanted to choke me.

It could be.....but I take some comfort that every time Democrats start pushing gun control they lose and lose big in the next election. I am hoping that will hold true here. At least the new AG has something to campaign on. He will release the hold on reciprocity with 24 states and reverse the AG's immoral unethical action! Say it loud say it strong. Keep saying it again and again.

Looking like you may be right. We've trended from Red to Purple in a very short time. Won't be long before most of the politicians are wearing Blue shirts.Grendel69 wrote:http://m.wdbj7.com/news/local/virginia- ... s/37083294

NC is not on the hit list because NC honors your Virginia (and everybody else's) CHP unconditionally (i.e., they don't demand reciprocity nor any compliance with arbitrary standards).

Utah will be my first application, followed by any others for states I regularly visit that are not recognized by Utah.
Not gonna get mad. Too late for that. Just gonna take appropriate action.
My sister and her family just moved to NC, and I wondered why. This is part of the reason.
