Obama signs bill allowing surplus 1911's sold to public

Well slap me with a fish and call me Swedish. I would have never believed that our freedom-hating POTUS would sign a bill allowing military surplus 1911 pistols to be sold to the public. Somewhere in America, pigs are taking flight.

Better get them fast before he changes his mind.

Pretty much the only reason it happened.

What do you Dem think about 16,000 page pork bills now? LOL Too bad they didn't slip the repeal of the GCA/NFA in there. That would have been great.

Ruh roh.... We might have just hit a snag with those surplus 1911's. Thanks to the GOP's cave on the latest budget.

"This legislation comes on the heels of the November enactment of the National Defense Authorization Act, in which legislators rejected dangerous House language that would have enabled the Citizen Marksmanship Program (CMP) to sell military handguns with no-in person background check and no record kept. Instead, the final bill added background checks and record keeping requirements for the CMP, and represents another small step taken in Washington to promote gun safety."

"Although we are pleased with this increase of funding for gun safety priorities, and the new background check requirements for CMP sales, we cannot rest on these actions alone – there is still much more to be done including removing the long standing ban on federal funding for research on gun violence as well as closing the background check and terror gap loopholes. A Republican controlled House and Senate and we still got this horrible 1000+ page omnibus bill that no one read and had less than 48 hours to look at before it was voted on with no debate. It is so bad, the Democrats are openly cheering victory and that the Republicans gave away the store.

Just reinforces my beliefs that Republican politicians for the most part are just as bad as Democratic politicians.
