DC Police Chief urges public to "take down" active shooters

Post by OakRidgeStars »

So let me get this straight, the anti-gun police chief of Washington D.C. is urging their disarmed citizens to "take down" an active shooter before the cops respond? Since they have only issued around EIGHT carry permits in the District I'm assuming that everyone else will be using sticks, stones and rubber bands?

Confused I am. :dunno:

Yup. Heard that yesterday. I belive there was a follow up where she even said she did not intend with gun and more guns are not the answer but to gang together and overpower the shooter. Because of course when there is a mad man loose the first thing I would do is run straight at him. Stupid

Home Rule was not in that city's best interests. There has never been an ability to tap into reality since self governance came to be.

Pretty sure you were trying to be funny, but, if you put the stick, rubber band, and stone together, it would be illegal in DC. Slingshots are a prohibited weapon.

I think he meant, he would throw the stone near the person to get his attention. If that didn't work he would tap the stick on the ground. After the bad guy came over he would snap the rubber band on his arm in hopes that the mild discomfort would distract him until the police arrived.

I guess losing SCOTUS, after SCOTUS decision is putting her feet to the fire. She's trying to change her image.

While maintaining her "elitists" status.

SHE, and others in the general D.C.-NOVA area are why I won't travel up there if given the chance.

What if I keep my stick, stone and rubber band disassembled and locked in a box? Then I'm good, right?

I think they have to be locked in separate boxes.

Personally, I wouldn't try it. Not sure when a slingshot becomes a slingshot instead of something I can probably turn around and grab from various parts of my desk right now. :)

An idea for the next mayoral candidate: disarm the police. Give them tasers and sticks. That will make the blaks happy, and DC police live by their policy.

What I find amazing is, when ask, the mayor said she hates him and she won't do anything to improve access to firearms for citizens. If she had her way, no one would have guns. The reporter asked her how people are supposed to take down an active shooter, as recommended by the chief,if they are unarmed. She said " the guys in Paris on the train didn't need guns. No one else should.

Something no one mentioned in the news, because God forbid the truth gets out, the Paris train situation went down so well because the gunman am malfunctioned and couldn't fire. Otherwise, it would have been a much different ending.

(shakes head) Bluntly. Anti-gun people are so effin' stupid, it appears they all need to be committed, and let someone else run their life....

... OH WAIT! THAT IS WHAT THEY WANT! SO THEY THINK WE ALL WANT IT!

Because they're effin' wee-tard-ed.
