Wasn't paying attention and missed it by a day!

Happy 26th Anniversary unified Berlin!!!

Has November 9, 1989 really been that long ago!!!! I feel old....
My grandfather said, "Always use your head!".

Seems like forever ago, doesn't it. I was just a kid in 1989. Those were the days! :coffee:

I was in Pirot, Serbia (Yugoslavia at that time) on a startup of a tire test machine in the Tigar tire plant when the engineer and the technician that were working with me told me that the Berlin wall was being torn down.
I didn't believe them, but at 2 am the next morning I was awakened by an English language news program on my hotel television with video of the demolition.

My father was stationed in Germany with the USAF during the Berlin airlift. One of my first memories of him was when he came home to Tacoma, WA. after that deployment. That was probably in late 1950.

Ahh, the Berlin Wall. It turned Kennedy into a pastry.

It was a very effective wall, just under 100 miles in length. We should study the construction of the wall and apply what we learn to our border with Mexico.
