Nubie Looking for help

Post by WilliamJ0715 »

I too am new to the AR rifle world, I have had bolt rifles in the past. My question is the finish on the internal parts mainly Chrome lined vs Nickel Boron in CBG. I was looking for input from shooter of both. Is it that much better?

Here are 2 product page with what i'm talking about:

http://arbarrelkings.com/collections/sp ... ron-finish

vs

http://www.armil-spec.com/BCG-AR15-p/arm-1051.htm

Thanks

I have built 12 ARs in the past 7 years. There are 2 things I do NOT skimp on. The barrel and the Bolt carrier group. Spend the money once and get a quality BCG that will last you a lifetime. I'm a big fan of the BCM BCGs and the only Nickel Boron BCG I own is a Spike's Tactical. It is by far the easiest to clean. Having said that, I have since bought BCM BCGs for all my other rifles and have been very happy with them. Contrary to popular belief, not all BCGs are created equal. Again, spend an extra $50 over the ones you're looking at and you will not regret it. This is just my opinion... hope it helps.
