I just hope that people understand that it not that I somehow don't like children or don't want others to succeed or be safe. My whole concern has always been that the growth of the country must be regulated because we can have more people come into the country in a given time period then the resources and economy can support.

We have the laws that we have because the founders as well as some of our greatest representatives understood that we need to preserve ourselves before we can help others. Its like on a plane, when they say in an emergency, put your mask on first before you try to help others. That's because if you don't take care of your self first, then you and the people you would have or could have help will all die.

That said, lets help as many people as we can, but lets follow our laws (or change them if need be) so we all thrive, not just survive.

I would still take the US government over all the others but can you imagine how much better it could be if the Constitution, BoR and all the laws were enforced as intended?

We have a president and many others that support sanctuary cities, illegal immigration and many other laws of this country. We can never expect a illegal immigrant to honor those laws that are not honored in D.C.

This country needs leaders that will run this country the way it was intended. But it will take a lot of time and patience.

It's utterly amazing to me that the POTUS, & others can blatantly disregard laws they don't agree with. Imagine how you or I would be treated doing the same. I work in a field that is directly impacted by illegal immigration. I'm a contractor. I do lots of things but, primarily a roofing contractor. Have been for 25yrs. There's definitely some pros & cons to the influx of illegal immigrant labor. However, it is my opinion that, overall... in the big picture, the cons considerably outweigh the pros.

In my ever growing cynicism, I believe the liberal stance on illegal immigration is fueled by a desire to count votes for the illegal population. It absolutely baffles my mind how requiring ID to vote could be called racist, or an attempt to disenfranchise voters. You can't do anything in this country without an ID, unless you're talking about voting in a high density ethnic area...... crazy imo.

I don't know all the methods of temporary living in the USA (Visa's, temporary work, etc) but how does our government collect taxes on the incomes of illegal immigrants and the businesses they work for?

I think a first pass would be those with work Visa's or Social Security cards stay...others go home.

A significant portion of Illegals are paid cash. As in zero taxes paid/deducted. I've seen plenty of construction crews in the last 10-15yrs that were all Hispanic. Have personally met multiple guys working in the construction trades that were illegal aliens. Most were paid under the table, some had bogus SS#'s. Lots of states, will give Drivers licenses to illegals as well. A determined illegal can pass himself off as legal fairly easily today. Doesn't take much to get a drivers license, & registered to vote.......

Nearly every immigrant that I have met (and not just the Hispanic ones, btw), legal or not, sends a large portion of his money back to his family, still in his home country.

His story...thought this was fitting. I received this in an email from a Vietnam buddy.



'I'm a disabled Vietnam vet. I don't look too bad for a beat-up old fart, do I? And that's my ride. She's looking pretty good also, especially when you consider that she'll turn twenty this summer. That's right, it's a 1990 with a 1990 sidecar. I can't ride a solo bike, ergo the sidecar rig. It's my sole means of transportation - rain or shine, snow or wind, and this summer also marks a milestone in both of our lives, as I will finally be able to pay her off. Twenty years old? What? Why did it take so long? You weren't paying attention, were you? It's right at the beginning of this paragraph.

I am a disabled vet, which means I receive a veterans administration disability pension, which also means "I'm broke!" Just one step ahead of being homeless every month, and that's not an idle statement or an "Oh, woe is me" dire complaint. There’s a point to this, so hang in there a minute or two and read on.

There's a 25-year-old illegal immigrant woman living in Florida, with eight kids. Yes, eight "anchor babies" and she receives just shy of $1,500 per month per kid, plus medical, plus food stamps.

Oh, wait. I've been informed that I shouldn't call them Food Stamps anymore. That's not PC. It's all called “Social Assistance” now. You do the math on that yourself. I'd say that she was schooled early in how to make it in the system. Twenty-five years old, eight kids . . yep, she started early.

You can whip out the calculator if you want, but this woman, who never has paid a dime in taxes of any kind, (and still doesn't – she's 'illegal,' remember?) is here in this country illegally. She hasn’t paid out one cent in medical for all the “anchor babies,” makes more in one month, legally, than I receive in over a year and a half in disability payments and I can't even get food stamps! Oops, I mean “Social Assistance.”

Technically I am eligible for “Social Assistance.” I was told it would be a walk through – a gimme – being disabled. No problem, and in the very next breath I was also informed that under the law the amount I received in “Social Assistance” would be deducted from my disability pension.

Let's say I take a great photograph. It was just luck, a one of a kind accident, in the right place at the right time shot. My local newspaper offers me fifty bucks to use the photo in a featured story. (I live in a small town and fifty bucks is all they could afford.) I have to report that fifty dollars to the VA as earned income, which will immediately be deducted from my next month’s disability check. If I don't report it I’m in violation of federal law and technically they can stop my disability pension and prosecute me under a federal felony. Pretty cool, eh? For fifty bucks.

I see no point in dealing with two federal bureaucracies, so I don't bother. What's the point?

She's here illegally and with just one kid would make over twice what I receive per month. She has eight and she’s not a stand-out case. She’s not alone. That's the way the system works. Millions of illegal immigrants know this, know how the system works and know how to use it. (Haven't you seen the pamphlet? It's handed out all along our borders, "The Illegal Immigrants' Guide to Keeping America Just The Way It Is.") and that's just the way it works.

Did you know that the federal government provides a “refugee” in this country with a monthly “stipend” of $1,890, plus $580 a month in “Social Assistance?” That’s $2,470 a month, tax-free.That's two and a half times what I’m allowed to receive as a disabled vet. And just what did they do to earn this? All you have to do is show up on our collective doorstep, raise your right hand and swear that you're a refugee and, bingo, receive $30,000 a year, tax-free. That's more than someone making $15 an hour, and they have to pay taxes to boot!

The point to this “story?” Just why are you paying such high taxes to support this incredibly screwed-up government? Why? And I’m not proposing you stop paying your taxes. That's wrong. There are good programs and reasons to pay your taxes and support our government.

What am I proposing? It's quite simple. Vote!

The government, our government, is broken and we as the voters serve as the maintenance crew. We fix it . . . by voting. If your state Senator has been in office more than two terms, vote 'em out at the next election. If your state representative has been in office more than two terms, vote 'em out of office. We put term limits on just about every publicly-elected official in the country except the House and Senate.

Why? Believe me, they know this and love it! Ahhh - the power!

I don't care how much you believe your Senator or Representative is doing a good job. They're not! Look at the government you have....that we have. How can you state they are doing what you want as the voter that put them there? How?

Vote them out of office. Do it.

Change the course of this country's history by what you are granted and guaranteed under the law. Vote! And if you have the guts, the anger, the outrage, start a petition in your state for a state-wide initiative to be placed on your next state ballot. Limiting the terms of office for your state senators and state representatives to your federal government to two terms.

The federal government will never pass such a law, but you can. You can get it done. You can force it. You can make it a law.

This is the first step in “getting it right.” Just vote. It's simple. It's easy, dammit! This first step will send a very clear message. It’ll work. It’ll put “us” back in control of “them.” As it should be. As it was intended in the first place.

Are you an American? Born and raised? Then vote!

As with the assertion of definition proclaimed by John Bingham, Jacob Howard's supporting definition has never been contested by the Supreme Court. No Represenative ever challenged Howard on this point. The House definition stands and officially remains unchallenged as of today.

It seems pretty clear when the main author of the Amendment and the main author of the Citizenship Clause both agree that birth, in and of itself, does not entitle a person to citizenship.

Seems quite clear when the authors' intention is taken into consideration. Similar to the 2A, the statement itself in the Bill of Rights is open for debate, but when the "intention" of the authors are considered, as well as the political climate at the time it was written, it sure throws a whole lot more light on the matter. The fact that the intention was never questioned or quibbled over in court (at least for a long while) speaks to the clarity and unambiguity of the meaning. Of course, any clever minded debater can attempt to twist and turn the real intention and meaning until it becomes so distorted as to lose all original meaning. This is the strategy of the vermin who insist on distorting the 2A and 14A and 1stA to suit political agendas. I think this is what Trump had in mind when he said it has to be tested in the courts. Trump seems to have some smart people advising him, eh?

You are exactly right. I was talking to someone who is clearly ani-2a about the Second Amendment. This is what it looked like... Look how he contradicts himself and how ignorant he is to hunting and firearms. He thinks an auto is more accurate. Plus, he completely misses the point of the Second Amendment. People pull the same crap with the 14th.

Dude, how can you say we need "more common sense" gun laws?! Most of our gun laws are completely pointless and based 100% of appearance and has nothing to do with common sense!

Easy! The “high” rate of (accurate) fire from a weapon with a high capacity mag option (it’s designed to also accept M16 magazines), hand grip, lethal caliber, plenty of range/scopes/etc, with little recoil has no other purpose in life than to fire off rounds quickly and inflict damage to multiple targets. It flies in the face of those that argue rifles are for hunting/sport (animals/food/etc) and renders any argument, useless, when trying to defend the need for it. You don’t hunt deer with a gun that has a grip. You hunt people or you use it to clear a room. It’s the same reason the M16 and MP5 have grips. If you were hunting animals and you missed your first shot, your target is probably already lost. If you were hunting people your target hasn’t gone anywhere and the next round will more than likely find the target. I have guns, I like guns, I like to shoot them and I’d love to shoot the MR1. Hell I’d even own one. But let’s face it, I’m not going to use that to do anything else than shred a piece of paper from 30 yards. I’m also not the crazy sonofoabitch that would take this and kill 12 people Unfortunately, you nor I can say the same for others.

If you were arguing that point against someone who spewed that nonsense, I would be right there with you. However, I don’t care about hunting or sporting events and neither does the Constitution. I am all about defense of myself and my Country, and THAT is why the Second Amendment guarantees our Right to keep and bear Arms… as in weapons. Not hunting and shooting clay discs. Personal defense; defense of the people; defense of the Nation. The point that a weapon may be more effective at killing makes it even more critical that we do not allow people to infringe on our rights to own it.
