I bought two of the NV200 units the last time they went on sale.
Gave one to my daughter when I gave her a 9mm as a graduation present.
A full sized 1911 fits in the NV200 no problem.
I keep one cabled to a seat frame in my van in case I've got to disarm somewhere.

Sold out now.
I watched a guy open one of these in about 5 seconds by using a metal rod the same diameter as the hinge rod. It seems that all one has to do is push out the hinge pin and you're in. I think I'll pass.

I'm not suggesting that this is a replacement for a $500, 300 lb., or larger, gun safe.
It's best for preventing loss of items in a smash and grab of your LOCKED vehicle while you are in a location where either you're not allowed to carry or where you expect to be unable to maintain control of your weapon or other small items.
(Swimming pool, medical procedure, etc.)
OBTW - thanks for the info. I'll be staking the hinge rods on my units in the near future so that can't be done.

BTW - IIRC they are good to go for transport of guns and mags in checked luggage as far as TSA is concerned.
Plus they give you a place to secure your gun/valuables when away from home.

I got one of these... exact same brand, style and size, but with the tumbler combo lock. It's nice to not have to carry another key. They are a great buy.
