Clinton said the country must take steps to keep guns from

Post by mmckee1952 »

Clinton said the country must take steps to keep guns from criminals and the mentally ill, while still respecting the Second Amendment and "respecting responsible gun owners."

That’s an easy thing to fix, just enforce the current laws on the books and don’t let judges lower gun crime cases to a lower degree and anyone who’s arrested of a gun crime with an illegal gun they are not allowed to own they receive a federal mandatory jail sentence of 10 years in jail. Problem salved.

I'm not a fan of mandatory minimum sentences... that said, yes, lets enforce the existing laws. That would be a great start.

I'm more concerned about the crazy people in power in the government, or seeking power/more power in the government than I am crazy people on the street with guns.

The people in office/running for office with no conscience, no honor, no honesty, and the psychological, or spiritual, hole that drives them to try to increase their power/authority/control over the rest of us scare the hell out me. Why? Because they will use that power/authority to send groups of armed people out to enforce their will.

It's much easier/quicker to deal with that lone/crazed gunman than to deal with the large group of government controlled/ordered men who have the same intent. To take away the honor/possessions/life of those of us who are honest, law abiding citizens of this country.

Think about it. How many Amercans have been killed under the authority of the Clintons. While you may argue, all day, that the folks in Texas were law breakers, how do you argue that all the kids inside those buildings deserved to die that horrible death because the government (run by the Clintons at that time) wanted a few of the adults out of the building and in jail? And that's just one incident.

As far as keeping guns out of the possession of criminals, I'm only concerned about violent criminals.

And the best way to do that is to execute them. Those guys that escaped from prison in New York a couple of weeks ago? Had they been put down, they'd still be in the ground, and all the resources spent in finding them wouldn't be necessary.

Execute violent criminals. Dead people don't shoot people. No matter how well armed they are.

I wouldn't say they were law breakers. I would say that one person was "suspected" to have violated weapons laws and the Federal Government tried to execute a "no knock warrant", which is extremely unconstitutional, and it went wrong. That lead to the standoff.

AND almost all surviving member of Branch Davidian were acquitted of all charges originally levied against them in the original warrants. With the exception of one guy, the convictions that were handed down were all related to the aftermath of the failed no-knock warrant. The one person who was convicted of charges not related to the failed warrant execution was convicted of conspiracy to possess machine guns (didn't actually have one) and aiding Branch Davidian leader David Koresh in possessing machine guns. Evidently its illegal to know someone has an illegally acquired machine gun and not rat them out.

Truth be told, if they executed a regular search warrant, one guy would have gone to jail, maybe two... and all those others would still be alive today. As far as I am concerned, lawlessness of our federal law enforcement caused those deaths.

"Illegal to know someone has an illegally acquired machine gun and not rat them out."?
How about if you know someone that says he knows someone else that has an illegally acquired machine gun and he hasn't ratted him out. Is it illegal to not rat out the guy that hasn't ratted out the owner?
Or, how about reading a post on a forum by a guy that knows someone that has admitted knowing a guy that......
