The USA should cut off all funding to the UN and give them 6 months to get their nest of spies out of NYC and the country.

The USA should never have been involved with the UN, to begin with.
Hell, the US pretty much invented the modern notion of Human Rights, and we still do it better than anyone else. I'd love to hear someone tell the UN to eff off and leave permanently.

The US should never have joined the UN.
What a big mistake.
Thank you, Woodrow Wilson.
I'm ashamed to admit he is a Virginian.
Why are we even agreeing to answer these ridiculous questions?

I think you misspoke. Woodrow Wilson was the League of Nations, and the US Senate refused to ratify US membership in that. But Wilson deserves plenty of opprobrium for other crap he did. The UN was right after WWII. Blame that primarily on FDR's Ivy League brain trust, I guess.

FDR also gave us the Federal Income Tax, and a plethora of other "agencies"
As to Woodrow Wilson? Yeah, he's a bit of an asshat as well.

We can assign some share of the UN blame to Wilson; the League of Nations was sort of a precursor to the UN.
I'm actually not opposed to a gathering of international leaders and representatives. If you take away the power and authority of the UN, I'd likely be fine with the group. As it stands now, the UN acts as a world wide governing body, and I take issue with that.

Y'all need some history lessons, it is true that he was born here in VA, but he is no more Virginian than Ted Cruz is a Canadian or Arizona A$$hat McCain is a Panamanian. He was President of Princeton and Governor of New Jersey. I would agree that the League of Nation was the precursor to the UN and all it's stupidity.smltooner wrote:The US should never have joined the UN.

Roosevelt actually passed away a little over two months before the signing of the UN charter, but I am sure his minions had a hand in it's writing. President Truman ultimately had a hand in it's signing.
Reverenddel, you are not even close on the income tax, the sixteenth amendment was passed by Congress in 1909 and ratified by enough states in 1913. You can give a lot of the credit to President Taft, but don't forget to include Teddy Roosevelt and his support for it. I don't always believe Wikipedia verbatim, but when it is footnoted I tend to believe it more. It is a good read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixteenth_ ... nstitutionReverenddel wrote:FDR also gave us the Federal Income Tax, and a plethora of other "agencies"

You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?

That's why I said that I guessed you'd have to blame it on FDR's brain trust instead of FDR. FDR was dead by then, but his administrative monstrosity had momentum that has not dissipated to this day.
