Somebody's already got a machine out that builds hamburgers if you just dump in the ingredients (even slices the 'maters). Read about it somewhere a while back. Didn't we have a proir thread about this? I think somebody (maybe even me) posted a link about that.

Dunno, but SHMIV may have a point. I only associate with people whom I have an interests. The general public might never hear a full sentence other than "Excuse me", or "Thank you", or "Pardon me".

The more you expose yourself, the less "greyman" you become.

So where as SHMIV's point is that we're going to have less human contact, making it easier to rat out others. It may make being a "greyman" easier as well.

This "greyman" concept would be a lot harder to pull off for some of us. I, for instance, live in a small community and am firly well-known. Dang near everybody knows who I am and all about me. In fact, as is common in such a community, I reckon a lot of them "know" stuff about me that ain't so. So I guess if you can't be an obscure target you just have to try to be a hardened one.

Yeah, but in communities like that you pretty much know who to keep an eye on.

You may know who to keep an eye on, but they aren't the ones you need fear. And keeping an eye on them won't stop them from becoming quislings for the ones you should fear. Every community has its inchoate quislings just waiting to be motivated. In normal times, they're merely snoops, busybodies and gossips. But if it ever comes SHTF time, they'll turn malignant. :tinfoil: :tinfoil: :tinfoil: :tinfoil: :tinfoil: :tinfoil:

(I just couldn't pass up a chance to get Rev all cranked up)

I will avoid your bait, and congratulate you on a proper use of the term "quisling" instead.

Not all EMTs get payed by taxpayers. Private EMS Companies typically get payed for loaded miles. You can try to bill for a pt contact but that is usually denied (i.e. Forced Charity) or they have no insurance (yep they still exist under Obamacare). When we get payed we pay into SSI, Medicare, and Medicaid too. So I not only pickup those people I pay myself to do it too...and get taxed on it again

The other night at 0130 in the rain, I got a Mutual Aid call from a near by county's dispatch. I had to drive ~25 miles into the abyss, then float my truck down a creek bed to find the unmarked "house". To do a "Sugar" check on a 31yo, because she did not trust the the 2 glucometers she had.

Yes, and some jurisdictions now charge for service to help offset costs.

I started to type a long post about how I used to sell plasma to eat, worked 3 jobs, and the first step in my IT career, I was making $19k managing IT for a company of 800.... and then I was going to post about immigrants (legal and otherwise), entitled idiots, and so forth...

Then I decided people are just f*** stupid, whining, self-absorbed, entitlement-bound assholes and said f*** it. I had a long day. f*** these idiots. They can eat a dick.

Once in a while, someone comes along and says what many are thinking, anyway.

Wanna tell us how you really feel, Mindflayer? Lol.

OK, context and culture allow me to understand the gist of what you're alluding to, but I'll go ahead and admit I got no effin' idea what "show" you're talking about.

It was a long day. Heck, it's been a long week.

You know what my dad did in the 70s as a young enlisted guy with a new bride and child? He worked two jobs and went to school. Yeah... he was serving his country and working two jobs. I bet some of you older guys did the same damned thing.

You know what I did in the 90s to get by and pay rent, insurance, live - and also pay for school so I would not graduate with a ton of student loans? I worked 2 to 3 jobs (depending on hours) and went to school. I remember how happy I was when I got promoted at one of those crap jobs and made 10¢ more an hour. I didn't have much - BTW, how is it that some of the protestors in these news stories say they can't live on their income, but they have a $700 Android phone and $1000 Christian Louboutin or Gucci shoes? - and had to live in some of the "subsidized housing" in Newport News (and you know how dangerously bad those places are). When I wanted to make more money, I had to 1) get a skill and 2) move on to better things.

I think it's funny that the same people that won't deign to work the same minimum wage jobs that immigrants (illegal and legal) flock to our country to do are the same people that support the party that gives amnesty to illegal immigrants... Then these very same idiots whine about an entry level job not being enough? The logic just escapes me.

I still hold that this would all be resolved with Mindflayer's 2016 Immigration Plan™: If you are receiving welfare because you are too lazy to work, or if you are spitting out children at a phenomenal pace, then we trade you for an immigrant that is willing to work. Our labor costs would go down, our taxes would go down, our civil unrest would go down, and our prosperity would go up.

How is it that an immigrant from Africa, Central/South America, or Asia, or even Europe can come over here with nothing to their name but their clothes, not speak the language, and in 20 years have two kids in college, speak English and their native tongue, and have a work ethic that is truly American.... and yet we have these jackholes that just scream gimme gimme gimme?

Dunno Mindflayer. All I know? They keep telling me it's "my turn" to be abused because I'm a "white southern christian male".

I thought lifting yourself up meant that you didn't stoop so low? (shrugs) Might have to post that shiznit on facebook. Make a lil' meme action.
