Concealed Carry Stops Carjacking

This video shows a teenager appear to carjack a woman's car at a carwash. She, not knowing what to do, jumps on the hood and starts screaming. As the teen starts to drive away in the stolen car, a local car wash patron, CHP holder (I assume) draws his weapon and responds.

CHP holder proceeds to driver's side of the carjacked vehicle and shoots through the driver's side window. Reports say he injures driver in the shoulder.

Of course the video doesn't do justice to outlining all the facts, nor do we have the testimony of the CHP holder, but what if:

- the driver was the woman's teenage son mad at mom because she took away his cell phone?
- the driver was the woman's husband playing an prank on his wife and had every intention of just driving a few feet then stopping?

Makes me re-evaluate the whole process and have serious reflection about:

- Do I have all the facts?
- Who is the good guy?
- Does this problem, or SHOULD this problem be solved by drawing my concealed weapon?
- Will the police think I acted reasonably?
- Do I really want to inflict deathly harm to the target?

The woman should not have jumped on the hood unless her child or other loved one was still in the vehicle. Losing your car is not worth losing your life.

From the local news report, it's not clear if the vehicle started forward motion.
