Soooo they made an M&P Shield with one less round? Oooookkaaay.
Re: Glock 43: Single Stack 9mm
Although many of us think Glock is late to this party, I bet they sell a whole lot of them.

If not Glock, someone will be out quickly with a plus one or plus two round mag that also has a pinky finger rest.Reverenddel wrote:...an M&P Shield with one less round? Oooookkaaay.

Extend the grip and add a round to the mag. None of this pinky rest crap. Then I'll look.

My primary carry is the 19, I will end up buying the 43 once it comes out. The shame of it is I need more than one spare mag to get the 19's capacity. This may end up being my hiking friend.

Re: Glock 43: Single Stack 9mm
As we all know, this has been a long time coming, and Glock knows this as much as anybody. With the 43, they've essentially released what most folks in the concealed market initially wanted, but were forced to settle for other alternatives (unless they played the waiting game with Glock).
I agree with the sentiments that it will sell like wildfire, even this late in the game. I'm betting that the availability will be similar to the Shield's, when it first hit the market....very difficult to obtain, but worth paying a little extra for.

Re: Glock 43: Single Stack 9mm
Found this article...debuting April 10th. Exciting stuff.
-------------------------------------------------------------
The G43 will debut at the NRA Annual Meeting, April 10-12 in Nashville, Tenn., at the GLOCK booth. Shipments of the product will begin directly following the convention.
Today GLOCK, Inc. announced the release of the new GLOCK single stack slimline 9mm pistol, the GLOCK 43, which will be unveiled at an upcoming NRA meeting.
GLOCK calls the G43 “the most highly desired and anticipated pistol release in GLOCKs history. Designed to be the answer to everyday concealed carry needs, the G43 is ultra-concealable, accurate, and comfortable for all shooters, regardless of hand size.”
“The G43 is the most exciting product release to date because it addresses a variety of issues that many shooters face with pistols in the concealed carry category,” stated GLOCK, Inc., VP Josh Dorsey in the news release. “It will be the pistol of choice for law enforcement and civilians. The G43 sets a new standard for concealed carry pistols.”
A slimline pistol, the frame width of the G43 is just over one inch and the slide width measures only 0.87 inch. The overall length is 6.26 inches. For those who have smaller hands, the trigger distance is only 2.6 inches, making it ideal for functionality. The single stack magazine holds 6 rounds and is the perfect concealed carry pistol for both duty and civilian use. The G43 is engineered to the same superior standards as all GLOCK pistols and the reliability instills confidence for all lifestyles.

Re: Glock 43: Single Stack 9mm
I'm looking forward to the G43. I had a Kahr PM9 when they first came out about 10 years ago. I liked the size and feel of the gun, but it was a jam-o-matic with HPs. Since then, I've been wanting Glock to come out with a single-stack gun the same size as the Kahr. I haven't done a side-by-side comparison, but the G43 looks to be just a big larger than the Kahr, but it will still be a great gun.
Glock will sell a ton of these, but they could have sold even more if they had started selling them five years ago. In the meantime, competitors (like the S&W Shield) filled the vacuum. I never did understand why Glock came out with a 380 before the single-stack 9mm.

About time Glock! I've dumped all my Glocks at this point went with S&W's on both the full and sub size stuff and Smith's stuff is just too damn ergonomic to ever go back to Glock's blocky angular design, BUT I've always consiered re-buying a G36. Love that gun. In reality though a XDs 45 may be a little more concealable and lighter.

Re: Glock 43: Single Stack 9mm
Swamp. THAT IS WHY I HAVE A PINKY REST ON MY MUSTANG!
With one in the chamber? I'm carrying 8 Federal hydra-shoks in that pinky mag...and after practicing in the woods, drawing, and shooting? I ain't going for the Glock 43.
Fraking with the pinky mag, and two 6 round mag spares, at 7 yards? All 20 rounds in a freaking paper plate... FAST!
Sometimes it's not about caliber. It' s about opening a can of whoopazz that is a small package.

Re: Glock 43: Single Stack 9mm
Okay Rev. 20 rounds 'll probably do it.
Unless Glock has done something about the they way the gun is taken down, I won't be getting one. Not fond of their method.
I like my Citadel compact. One in the tube, a full mag and two spares gives me 19 rounds of 45 caliber whoopazz. It's not as small, but almost.
Giving serious thought to something in 9mm, and maybe 40 as well.

Re: Glock 43: Single Stack 9mm
Swamp, if you want smaller? Leave the .40 alone. You're not going that much smaller.
9 MM is about the smallest you'd be okay with going considering you're a .45 daily carrier. I did NOT like the Kimber! That is the most ammo finicky thing I have shot in YEARS!
Now the SIG 239 in 9MM? Yeah, I liked that one ALOT!

You see Sig's new P320 striker fired pistol? Only in 9mm now, but 40 and 45 are on the way.

Re: Glock 43: Single Stack 9mm
I only ever own one gun at a time, except for the overlap time while selling, and this is going to be it. I've been carrying a .38 snubby for years. I want a 9mm, but the Glock 26 was just too much to CCW. I'm looking for this to be the ticket. #1 criteria for me is reliability. I'm trying to increase round capacity at the same time, and it looks like Glock is the only way to do that. How pretty it is doesn't matter to me.

Keep in mind Tommy, the Glock 43 is 6+1... The Shield? 7+1, and the 230 is 8+1!
