Verizon absolutely rapes it's consumers in rural areas. If you live in a rural area & are limited on internet options, Verizon is a double edged sword. They have great wireless internet service. It is truly high speed, very stable, & leaps & bounds better than any satellite options available. However, if you actually use it.... grab your ankles. Obviously, not a concern for those that live in urban areas, or places with hardline options. Where one can get all the high speed internet they desire for $100 or less a month. A Verizon wireless internet user who uses say 30GB's/month will pay over $200/month just for internet access. 40GB = $300 !
While, 30 or 40 GB's per month may seem like a lot to some people, keep in mind a Comcast user can use in the neighborhood of 200GB's/month for less than $100/mo. If you are an active internet person, or use Netflix, watch videos on youtube, or have kids into gaming, etc..... Verizon loves you, & will give bend you over every month.
I live 1.5 miles from a Comcast node. Comcast told me it would cost over 100K to bring cable to my house...lol. The ONLY decent internet available to me is Verizon wireless. Needless to say, I need em, & hate em.
