Was @ Starbucks in Waynesboro today. They had no sign posted at either entrance, yes I checked them both. I didn't ask anyone about it but, like I said... no sign posted at either entrance.2k05gt wrote:Add Starbucks.....

a friend of mine is a Detective and they told him no Guns were allowed inside the store, until he showed them his badge.

Mark "Goodyear" tires, and all their locations.
The VCDL has been on this one, and sent out an e-mail to send to Good year.
Considering that's all I have put on every vehicle. I'm really disappointed in this one.

If I understand it correctly, Starbucks is not prohibiting firearms from their stores, but asking owners not to openly carry. This in response to the recent photobombing of suburban fire teams coming in for a latte all kitted out.Viper21 wrote:Was @ Starbucks in Waynesboro today. Fed Ex
Went to Fed Ex Frieght in Waynesboro/Fishersville today. They had signs posted at all the entrances. Saying no firearms allowed at all. "Even if you have a license to possess such firearm, it is not permitted on this property"

Re: Firearm Unfriendly Businesses in Virginia
What recently bothered me is the Veterans Administration has a sign at all entrances prohibiting any weapons on their premises. So does this mean you can't park your car in their lot if you leave your gun in your vehicle?

Firearm Unfriendly Businesses in Virginia
ruh roh. It is federal property after all, so I expected this, but Richmond area the VA is located in isn't exactly a nice area of town either. I looked for and did not see signs when I went Aug 1, but have to go back Sept 5...wittmeba wrote:What recently bothered me is the Veterans Administration has a sign at all entrances prohibiting any weapons on their premises. Jolly - thanks for the link to the document.
The only issue I had was I went into town (40 miles one way) to do other business while carrying. And also had an appointment with the VA. So I was at the driveway when I realized I better do something quickly or else...Unfortunately there are no near-by lockers to hold the gun while I visit.

BRAND NEW!!!
From the VCDL ALERT!
6. Short Pump Pour House - not just an anti-gun restaurant, the owner is actively belligerent to gun owners
*********************************************************
From member Joe C:
I have been defending the Right to own and carry a gun, open or concealed, and have been criticized for my defense by the Owner of Short Pump Pour House (Bobby Walsh).
I asked him if he allows his customers to bring guns into his sports bar.
Here, in his own words is his answer, which is NO. Maybe his customers may want to support a sports bar that does support the 2nd Amendment and the Right to own and carry.
"Joe we do not allow them here nor at any place I have managed. Making fun of you is much more relevant than answering the stuff you have learned to parrot. Your understanding is severely limited and it shows. Your comments make a mockery of the idea that you are"debating" the issue. No one I know walks around all day afraid of their shadow so they don't need a gun. The Second Admendment does not give the right of 34% of the population to hold the other 66% as hostage to their raving paranoia."

Re: Firearm Unfriendly Businesses in Virginia
It's gotten to the point that I really don't care whether or not the establishment allows it. I'm concealed about 90% of the time, anyway. If I'm going to carry (which I will), I'll carry regardless whether there's a sign or not.
Places I may or may not have violated an anti-gun policy:
NFCU - multiple locations
Suntrust Bank - Virginia Beach
Bank of America - Norfolk
Buffalo Wild Wings - Downtown Norfolk multiple times due to mandatory fun events
Every movie theater I've entered since 2012
To paraphrase a recent movie, "I recognize that your establishment has made a policy, but given that it's a stupid ass policy, I've elected to ignore it".
Only places I don't carry inside is military establishments (bases, Exchange, commissary). Carrying in there smells too much like a federal firearms charge waiting to happen.

Re: Firearm Unfriendly Businesses in Virginia
It's not a matter of worrying about being asked to leave, or violating their policies.
It's about spending money with someone who does not support you, your values, or your beliefs.
They don't mind your mind, but OOOOOHHHH, God forbid you want to LEGALLY/CONSTITUTIONALLY carry a weapon because some jackhole might shout "ALLAH AKBAR", and make a martyr out of himself... because said jackhole is betting the "gun free zone" is safe enough to make a statement.
I just don't want to make a F'cktard wealthier....

Re: Firearm Unfriendly Businesses in Virginia
As far as I am concerned, the guy at the Pour House can take his bad attitude and go to the Poor House. I'm not spending one red cent at his restaurant. From the sound of it, I feel safe in assuming that he probably donates money to candidates and causes that are contrary to my own beliefs. And I don't rightly care to contribute, albeit indirectly, to such candidates and causes.
I generally make the same assumptions about other anti-gun establishments, and avoid spending money in those places for the same reasons.
There is only one "gun-free zone " that gets my money regularly. Management is very aware that I violate their no gun policy, and they find my presence comforting.

I guess making fun of someone for quoting statistical fact is better than admitting you're making a mistake.
Your understanding is severely limited and it shows. Your comments make a mockery of the idea that you are"debating" the issue.
Anyone have the back story of the original email? Would love to tear this comment up. Until then, see my comment above.
Do you guys know anyone who walks around all day afraid of their own shadow? I don't.No one I know walks around all day afraid of their shadow so they don't need a gun.
People don't drive around all day expecting to get in a car crash either... they all still wear seat belts. Well, maybe his friends don't. Oops, there I go, parroting. My bad.
The Second Admendment does not give the right of 34% of the population to hold the other 66% as hostage to their raving paranoia.
Actually, you are right. The Second Amendment does not give us the right to arm ourselves; it simply forces the government to respect that natural, God given right. Considering you spelled the word Amendment wrong, I'm not surprised you got the purpose of the amendment wrong, how it works wrong, what it does wrong, and... your firearms ownership stats are wrong too.
According to a Pew Research study of Gallup polls, a minimum of 43% of Americans own a firearm. Its funny... that is almost the same amount of Americans that have a job and work for a living (42%)... not have their hand out and vote for a living. Coincidence? I think not.
Damn... there I go, parroting again. Man, what's wrong with me?
