Honest Gun Dealers in Harrisonburg Area

Post by RWellsHarrisonburg »

Anyone know of honest gun dealers in the Harrisonburg VA area that purchase small caliber vintage rifles?
Thanks,
Bob

Why not sell them on the forum? Any dealer, even the best, will lowball you in order to make money when selling to another forum member. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

good point Bob.... sure someone on here may be interested in what he's got and would probably give him more "fair value" for what it is.

Ashby Arms is a great shop in Harrisonburg.

They have a very knowledgeable staff and a low overhead location. Didn't gouge during the gun/ammo shortage this of 2013. At least one is a former service member (Marine). I'm not sure though if they would be interested in a hunting rifle. From what I've seen, they mostly deal in handguns and self-defense rifles & shotguns. Although I suspect that is partly because that is what everybody was trying to buy the past year out of fear they will be illegal going forward. They are on facebook.

Gun Shack is awesome. They also have a place in Verona. Runion's is ridiculous. They do not let you carry concealed in their shop. Insane. I like the idea of selling on the forum. Runion's offered me $400 for a gun I later sold for $750.

You may be wondering why I am answering a post that is a year old. I just like to let people know to stay away from Runions. They treat me like I am an idiot. It is like I am bothering them.

Similar experiences in Staunton. I usually shop at Dominion in Fishersville. Great staff, reasonable prices on guns. They are a little flexible too. They have a good selection, & a decent archery shop. I have made multiple purchases at their shop, been happy with all of em. Have also had great experiences dealing with their archery shop.
