CC at the Nation's Gun Show?

Post by RO73 »

Anyone know if you can carry concealed while attending the gun show? I know it sounds like a dumb question but the website says no loaded guns.

Thanks.

No question is ever stupid--but assumptions can be.

The Nations Gun Show (Dulles) strictly enforces a "no loaded guns" on premises--and asks every visitor upon entry if he is carrying. I have no reason to think they will have changed it for this weekend's show.

You can carry inside. However, they will zip-tie your firearm, so that it won't go into battery. And you cannot have loaded magazines on your person. They will request that you either leave it in the car, or they will put it in a zip locked bag and hold onto it for the duration of your visit.

Thanks. Not worth the hassle. I'll just leave it home.

yeah if the anti's found out that at the bastion of firearms, the american gun show, carrying loaded firearms wasn't allowed, they'd have a field day with that. total hypocrisy.

One day I talked to someone on the staff about that rule. They said that was done for two reasons...

One is for insurance and business licensing purposes.

The other is because there had been a problem at some point in the past where anti-2a protestors came in like they were shopping, but instead booby-trapped a few guns by dropping live rounds in some weapons. I guess they were hoping for a "see, guns are bad" moment. What sucks is, it would be at the expense of innocent life.

Now, no one is allowed to carry in unboxed ammo and all breaches need to be wire tied so a round can't be placed in it and fired.

I guess reason one was brought on by reason two.

Also sounds like another great reason to assume a firearm is always loaded.
