Two Firsts Last Night

Been a while since I have posted but anyway...
I finally got over to Elite Shooting Sports, in Gainesville, and I finally put the first rounds through my new Tavor.
My shooting sucked since I I really wasn't in the mood (it sounded like a good idea when I made plans the previous night but the workday sucked the life out of me) and I should have been better prepared to sight it in the first time out but forgot to pack my binoculars so I had to keep moving the target in and out while I walked the shots in. I Got it close then just had some fun and stress relief listening to and feeling the bang while doing very little damage to the target.
The Tavor trigger is heavy as hell off the shelf but better than other bullpups I have looked at, IMHO. Others have felt mushy to me in addition to heavy. I have always wanted a bullpup but couldn't talk myself into spending premium money on crappy triggers. There is a simple mod you can do on the Tavor to lighten it up and there are some drop in triggers available so I will remedy the heavy trigger. Despite my bad mood and bad shooting, I thought it felt good and I think we will be very happy together.
Elite is VERY nice. Lots of lanes, the people are nice enough and it's close to home. The only thing that caused me to have a "you gotta be kidding me" moment was when they told me I couldn't have one rifle safely resting on the bench while I shot the other - only one weapon out of the case at a time. I was sharing a lane and my friend preferred to shoot the AR while I wanted to shoot the Tavor so it was a minor inconvenience but it's their range, their rules. We'll just get two lanes next time. I'm glad they're finally here.
