Great read. Explains it well.

I am a public defender in a large southern metropolitan area. Fewer than ten percent of the people in the area I serve are black but over 90 per cent of my clients are black. The remaining ten percent are mainly Hispanics but there are a few whites.

I have no explanation for why this is, but crime has racial patterns. Hispanics usually commit two kinds of crime: sexual assault on children and driving under the influence. Blacks commit many violent crimes but very few sex crimes. The handful of whites I see commit all kinds of crimes. In my many years as a public defender I have represented only three Asians, and one was half black.

I read that a while ago. Makes me very very sad. I don't even know how to react to that but with tears. Tears for them, tears for our society tears for the victims, there is nothing there but sorrow.

A true understanding of Christianity would help, as it contains moral codes, required empathy for others and both justice and mercy. But how does one go about delivering the true gospel of grace, justice, and mercy upon sinners when a false gospel of God the "Santa Claus" is much easier to swallow and is prevalent.


To fix this would require a great awakening. It would require the hand of the Almighty himself. Perhaps instead of trusting in the tender mercies of the nanny state the defender should look to a higher authority.

I bet many public defenders could write of similar experiences.

The fact that the "real truth" is hidden, & ignored, is one of the biggest problems, only aggravating the situation imo. Accepting the truth when it reflects negatively upon you is one of the more difficult things for anyone, of any culture, or circumstance to acknowledge. It's far easier to blame someone or something else than ourselves. Too many people are scared of the truth, & profit from the racism narrative.

Anybody is free to walk into a courtroom & hear cases that occur daily. I remember doing that for a Social Studies class in high school. Many cases are shocking. Even in the lower courts. What I have seen in life certainly corresponds with what this public defender says.

Everything he says is a huge part of why there is so much racism in the USA.
And of course sharpton, jackson, holder and bongo do NOTHING to correct the problem.

I was reading the opinion of a public defender, who is a confessed liberal, who deals with criminals, and has an opinion on why they're part of higher conviction rates.

Considering I got a ticket, hired a lawyer, followed his advice to the letter, and got a lesser ticket, then was told by "others" "You got lucky!" No, I didn't. I got REPRESENTATION, and I FOLLOWED THEIR ADVICE!

If you don't want to go to jail? Don't commit crime. And if you're going to commit crime? HIRE THE BEST LEGAL REPRESENTATION MONEY WILL BUY!

There is a reason that he's called "Magic Mike Morchower", and he cost a freakin' FORTUNE!
