Glock Trigger Jobs

I have a Glock with a trigger reset spring that's starting to wear out. Any suggestions on a good place to get it replaced, and maybe have an armorer fine tune the trigger again?

Just about any gun store with an armorer will be able to replace the spring.

You may also want to consider doing it yourself. Glocks are pretty simple to work on. The spring costs a dollar or two.

It's doubtful that they would know whether it was done by a certified armorer or not, and I doubt that they would refuse to honor a legitimate warranty problem either way.

If you have shot the pistol enough, the warranty isn't relevant any more. Really, anything that would break due to defective materials or workmanship will happen early in the pistol's life. I'm not a certified armorer, but following the easily available, free video instructions I am able to completely disassemble and re-assemble my toys without any trouble whatsoever. Replacing a spring yourself is not going to cause a problem unless you do something wrong, and that will be evident from dry-fire testing before you fully reassemble the pistol anyway.

Are you trying to highlight ProShooter's point?

This video uses an older Glock, probably a Gen 2, pistol which only has two frame pins. Later Glock versions, Gen 3 and 4, use three frame pins. If you went by this video and used a three-pin Gen 3 or 4 Glock, you could damage some of your pistol's parts when you tried to remove them without first removing the third frame pin.

Singling out? Do you think the video poster, or me as well for that matter, intended to post an example video using an old two-pin Glock model?

When people do not know how to do something and go in search of an internet video to learn how to do it, how do they know what videos are good, bad or mediocre? I suggest to you they don't. Sometimes this matters little, sometimes a lot. If folks are serious about the reliable operation of their pistols, it's best they not go messing about with functional pistol parts they know little about. Do you know what happens when you put a trigger spring in incorrectly? It's likely to break prematurely. This is very easy to do and the video posted does not do a good job of showing the correct way, or more importantly, point out how to avoid doing it the wrong way.

Try going to Sharpshooters in Newington. When I was a new shooter a long time ago, my trigger reset spring broke when I was shooting there (which used to be called Gilbert). It was a slow day, and I was a member, so they replaced my spring for free. Took him all of five minutes, including finding the bin of springs. Not saying that they would or should do it for free for you, just relating a similar story I had.

OP - Since fireman Bob has some kind of objection to you paying $20 for a Glock certified armorer to fix your gun, please take his advice and randomly choose a video from youtube.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think BRA has a Glock armorer on staff.
