Where did you see this opening date announced? I was just on their facebook and web sites and saw no mention of an opening date. All I found was a facebook entry dated 13 Oct stating; "We're getting closer, hopefully just weeks away."

Well, based on the FB pics, the place looks nearly complete. Maybe they will make this 28 Oct date. I recall a past article that stated an opening date of 4 Oct.

Construction is already well under way with a scheduled opening date of Oct. 4.

Wow I'm glad I found this thread. I'm a member at SEG and I like it but it's too far away and their early weekday hours are not great.
This place is about 20 min away and open from 8-10, hard to beat that

No. I'll wait for the hoopla to die down and visit ESS for the first time some weekday morning when it's least likely to be crowded.

Hope they get some pistol matches going soon as the winter seems to be arriving early.

I went to the open house on Saturday. It wasn't crowded. Watched a 10-15 min. video stressing safety and proper gun handling on the range. Paid a one time $10 initiation fee and got a "range card" (not quite sure what that's for but probably checking in before shooting). Though I really prefer shooting outdoors, this will be good for the cold weather. They will be having USPSA and IDPA matches there eventually as well.

I'm pretty excited to check it out. It's maybe 20 minutes away from where I live and I haven't found anything outside close enough to be convenient.
