LIGHTS AND LASERS – USEFUL SIGHTING DEVICES OR GIMMICK?

Post by TacticalTedcom »

Living on a farm raising chickens, ducks, turkeys etc. can be very satisfying, however It can quickly turn to tragedy when predators start killing your animals. I was experiencing this and it was time to put a stop to it! What I decided I needed was a gun that could easily be brought into use at night when the killing rampages usually take place.

Good read! I love my tac lights and laser sights. I agree with you on all aspects of your article.

Green lasers are much more comfortable as far as ease of use and visbility during the day. You also get an excellent range out of them. I have used my green laser out to 100 yards during the day. Minute of Man no problem. But, they are horribly temperature sensitive. Unless its between 75 and 90 degrees, its questionable if my green laser will even turn on. Sometimes, when its in the high 50's low 60's, it takes 5 minutes or more of being on before the beam is visable.

My read laser is awesome in every temperature I tried to opperate it at, down to about 12 degrees and over 100. I have gotten 200 yards out of it for Minute of Man at night. But unless you are shooting at night or indoors/low light, its not very easy to acquire in the bright of day past about 15 yards. As it gets darker, the red laser's usable range increases.

I have bright lights on two carbines (AR15 and SIG 556R) and on two handguns (P09 9MM and M&P 9MM).

If I go out at night, I have a light on the gun.

Thanks for the positive reply's, guys. As for mister spam, seems there is one naysayer in every crowd.
I guess out of all the articles I have posted I should feel proud that this was the one and only negative response I have received. Oh yes, this forum section is entitled - "Articles and Op-Ed".
