GREEN TOP
Anyone been lately? Used to be a good stop on the return trip from the Richmond show for reloading supplies etc. Haven't been by in some time and don't see the name around here??

Re: GREEN TOP

Well, they never were cheap but always seem to have what you needed or could not find at the local shops. I doubt that is true today. Was just musing about old times.

I was down there this past weekend. They had the shotgun I've been looking for, the 870 Express HD set up. Prices weren't great, but not terrible on that gun. $389, which is pretty much MSRP, but I couldn't find it anywhere else. I did manage to get a 5% military discount, so it took care of the taxes. I was going to just pick up a used 870 and do the mods myself, but it would have cost me more to get an 18" barrel (if I could have found one) and an extender than it was for a new one already in the configuration I wanted.
Ammo was outrageous. My friend wanted some .40 for practice, but it was $20/box. Passed on that. No 9mm, no .38 sp, etc.

I think this same setup will likely be my next purchase...unless I decide to buy a semi-auto pistol first.MasterGuns wrote:They had the shotgun I've been looking for, the 870 Express HD set up.
