Trapshooting sponsorships???
Trapshooting sponsorships???
I used to belong to a gun range up in NJ and participated in quite a few trap tournaments, and now that I have found a trap range down here in VA that hosts ATA registered shoots, I am thinking of taking my shooting to a whole new level. I would love to be able to compete in a majority of the shoots that ATA offers (state, regional, and the Grand American); however with out some type of "backing", these would be financially unfeasible for me (ammo, entry fees, lodging, etc.). I was wondering if anyone knew of any possible companies that would be willing to sponsor a shooter so that it would help to "offset" these costs or what is the best way to possibly go about obtaining the interest of potential sponsors. I have dealt with sponsorships when I was younger and had my dirt track car, so do know that a sponsorship goes a lot more in depth than just getting "free" merchandise (hats, shirts, etc) and wearing to advertise...... I am not looking for a free ride as far as someone providing everything for me to shoot these events.. even if it is a 50/50 business agreement.

Everyone I know who does it, does it out of pocket, even those good enough to compete professionally. Still cheaper the three-gun at least.

Agree with Bert. I have never seen shooters in the shooting sports be sponsored, except at the highest levels of World Cup and Olympic competition.
