9-year-old accidentally kills Arizona shooting instructor

Post by allingeneral »

This guy was an IDIOT! I would never let a child that young have full control of a gun like that on the first time firing it! He should have had his own hand helping to control the recoil.

##############
An instructor* at a gun range in Arizona was killed Monday morning after he gave an selective-fire Uzi with at least five rounds in the magazine to a tiny 9 year-old girl. He had her fire a single round before switching the gun to automatic mode, with a substantial number of cartridges in the magazine.

A video of the event, taken by the girl’s parents, has been released. The video (thankfully) stops as the gun recoils violently to the girl’s left, firing a burst that ended with a round through the skull of the instructor.

Yep. Effin idiot.

It's tragic, and Darwin Award aside, I feel for the mans family.

This is absolutely terrible. The guy doesn't appear to be a certified instructor from what I've read. That girl will be traumatized for life. What were the parents thinking allowing their daughter to shoot an uzi?

That guy richly deserves his Darwin Award. It is an unthinkable act of irresponsibility to allow such an unprepared, inexperienced child to fire a full-auto 9mm firearm. I wouldn't even allow such a beginner to shoot anything larger than .22LR until she demonstrates the required proficiency in handling the firearm.

This incident will be used by the Left as propaganda against youth shooting programs nationwide, and it will turn off many families. For the harm Vacca has done to our cause, I hope he roasts in Hell.

I'm all for teaching kids about guns and how to shoot but see no reason for a kid to shoot an Uzi. I suspect her parents wanted a video so they could brag about what their kid got to shoot/do. Now they will be spending tons on years of therapy for the poor kid. I blame both the parents and the instructor.

For anyone interested, I did a brief interview with NBC12 Richmond today about this.....very, very sad indeed.

What in this world? A nine year old should be shooting .22 and air soft. I am all for training them young, but an automatic!?!

Not wise.

What on this Lord's good green Earth would lead anyone to feel that was a good idea.

I am in my 40's, have 25 years of experience with firearms and stand 6' 2" 380lbs. I fired my first 3 round burst this year. Knowing what to expect, all the experience I have and standing at 3 yard line, I still had a 2 foot vertical spread on paper. No way in the world a little kid is going to be able to handle a weapon like that.

At least there was a video to prove it was an accident due to negligence on the instructor's behalf.

God rest the guys soul and I hope the young lady comes to grips with this. The story on tv made it out like the instructor did a couple things wrong. I did not get to see it all.

It is one of these things though that is like "Another one that the anti's will use against us

I can remember my dad not letting us hunt with a semi auto (.22) till we were up in high school. His view was that if a mistake will be made at least it'll only be one shot.

Bad decision by the parents. Bad decision by the range owner. Bad decision by the "instructor" to stand on the wrong side of that weapon. The range should have their permits to operate at least temporarily suspended.

That poor child has to live with that for the rest of her life. And yes, the anti's will use that against us.

At this point? Darwin for everyone! Did I hear correctly that AZ is looking at filing charges against the parents?

Geraldo Rivera talked about this on his radio program this morning. He used it as an argument for repealing the Second Amendment.

I think it was an unnecessary tragedy which shouldn't have happened, but wishing the man an eternity of roasting in hell for a mistake which cost him his life is a bit harsh in my opinion.

I don't see any good that can come from this. At the minimum I foresee some stiff restrictions on the rent-a-machinegun ranges.

Got to love Geraldo. He thinks borders are imaginary lines and it does not matter if a person who kills someone when they are drunk driving is an illegal breeder. he thinks the fact they should not have been here is "Not an issue".

yet he worries about our guns????

Hard to repell invasions without guns. Just ask the natives.

ANY loss of human life is unfortunate , but I'm SOOO THANKFUL it was the hapless ADULT instead of the little girl! CAN YOU IMAGINE the media carnage and more jackass';s coming for our second amendment AND our firearms!!!?????? I , for one, breath a sigh of relief...WHEW!

BTW I have been scanning, monitoring and listening the print and electronic media ..since this happened and the usual, traitorous , dishonorable and plain un American suspects are T R Y I N G...to make this another 'Play" and to fan the flames of all GUN GRABBERS ...It is an EPIC FAIL. Its not getting traction. The have tried and they have failed. (again). THANK GOD that Little Girl was not killed or even burned by a hot shell...this would be FRONT PAGE everywhere.

I'm of the opinion like someone posted above. THANKS JACKASS " Instructor" you got taken out of the gene pool a little late, but at least you are gone.

My little girl started with a bolt action, single shot .22 LR... she progressed to a semi auto .22 tactical and has fired everything from a 12 gauge to .44 mag. BUT ALWAYS with me holding her and firearm ( plus ear, eye, hand protection) She now can grab an M4 and rattle the cans on the range.
These jackasses ( and their are plenty of them) just youtube all of these idiots putting big guns or like ,say, a desert eagle... in unsuspecting girlfriends, daughters, wives hands and filming it and Laughing ...a lot of these vids of course feature people drinking or lookers on holding cold ones. Totally , not funny...not cool..and I guarantee these fellas would lose their lives in any "firefight"! ANY!

Thank you God for sparing this little ones life and limb!

Few pricks ruin it for everyone...same ol, same ol.

I'm done.

the only "Fail" that I ever got a laugh at was this , now famous video. Thank God he was not hurt..only reason its funny..seems like a good , safe and responsible set up. But after getting whacked. "....we aint doin that anymore.." " no more iron!..No more iron! " ( grin)

Yeah, think that's a good idea buddy! :bangin:

Often I get a kick out of ol HICKOK and his vids when he misses a target several times or repeats the same thing over backwards or forgets to load. That's just being human. Great guy in TENN. ( check him out on youtube)
