I keep thinking about what might happen if you have a wreck with a flare gun strapped above your lap on the steering column........

Improvised weapons. ..

Well, I have an 80,000lb machine with a pushbar on front and a loose nut behind the wheel. The baseball idea is cool, but impractical in a truck. Got aerosol window cleaner with a pistol-grip attachment on it ( the pistol grip is made for spray paint, but is great for any aerosol can);I keep that in my door pocket. I also have an assortment of knives.

I have been contemplating strapping a flair gunto the steering column; I figure that I have reason enough to keep it for it's intended purpose, seeing as I drive through mountains in inclement weather on a regular basis. Also contemplating a machete, as I have had the occasional need to cut brush to gain traction.

I'd be extra careful with the Flare Gun idea ! A buddy of mine burned his 45 acre bean field playing with his "New Toy the Flare Gun". I really like The Machete and think every vehicle needs one ! I have several Gerber Machetes that are short and heavy and can easily HACK anything that may become necessary ! I hope in your assortment of Knives you have a nice "BOWIE" .

You mean the people in a position to do something about it... or at least get out of the way so we can? Never. Doesn't fit the agenda.

I posted up a thread not to long ago. I heard about a high body count up there one weekend, so I did a quick Google search. Turns out most weekends are very similar. I posted like 3 years of links to near weekly occurrences of the same thing.
