The Official MuShu Gun Thread

Post by MuShuGordon »

Ok guys, I have been lurking here and posting up here and there, but I think that it is time I got on here and made a gun whore post of my own. Keep in mind I just purchased my first gun about 10 months ago and I just turned 21 in August so my collection is not huge, yet. When I get settled in the NAVY and everything, definitely expect the collection to go up immensely. Enough talk, here are some pictures of my three rifles, my brother has my pistol because he carries it with him hunting with a bow in the woods.

-1943ish Mosin Nagant/Big/Wooden/Big Boom/Chambered in Holy Moly that is loud 7.62x54R

Thanks for your time guys.

I'm having a hard time deciding on what my next firearm is going to be. I want a 1911 really bad, however, I think that I am going to wait on it because of the amount of funds that will be available later on compared to the ones available now. I'm trying to find an AR15 now and I am finding some SWEET deals on some but their owners are complete idiots.

I want an old Colt 1911 though. What is the difference in the others? Just the brand?

Do you want a 1911 or a 1911A1? A1 are the newer ones with palm safety. SU Government issue you pay for. New one's like Rock Island & Springfield Armory are very good and MUCH easier on the wallet

I want a nice, old one. The ones carried in WWII by our soldiers. My grandfather was issued one, allegedly, and bought it after the war, he passed 2 years ago and the family does not know what happened to the gun. Nor do they know if he did purchase it, or if he wished he had and didn't. Heck, the war was in the early 40's. Stories could be altered quite a bit in those following years.

Crazy people on GunBroker. I tell you what. I think that I am going to have better luck looking elsewhere for a new gun. I will make a new thread about what I should look for next.

Nicer people but less of a selection and its focus is FTF VA transactions. Maybe they even have a board like that for you guys in NC.

I have Greg (FFL bud) in Virginia and he can transfer anything from those guys to me without a problem. I am not thinking about purchasing a 1911 now though.

The gun store near me has about five 1911's just in Colt, ranging from $750 for a government model to $2500 for an older one.
