Re: Favorite Shotgun
Not a thing wrong with a Mossberg or a Remington pump gun. I have had both. But my all-time favorite is the Ithaca Model 37.

Re: Favorite Shotgun
+1 on the 1100, we have a few of them we use for hunting and clays.
Re: Favorite Shotgun
I'd have to agree that an AA-12 would be very nice. My favorite shotgun, right now, is my Benelli Supernova Tactical. Eats anything, weatherproof polymer over steel frame, chrome-lined barrel, great factory GRS, innovative recoil-reducing buttstock, magazine override in the foregrip, modular. All this in a stock HD shotgun. The addition of a remaindered factory +2 mag extension gave me a 7+1 capacity. A Streamlight TLR-1 and mount, and I'm good to go. Smooth action, and a sweet shooter with magnum and slug rounds.

Re: Favorite Shotgun
I just traded my Mossberg 590 A1 for a Mossberg 930 SPX. I loved the 590, but I think I'm going to love the SPX more. Put 75 rounds through it the other day without a hiccup. Sighted in at 75 yards and kept reasonably small groups (5 inches) with slugs. Will re-sight for self defense range in a week or so.
Re: Favorite Shotgun
I don't have too many hunting shotguns anymore. But when I did, among my favorites was my Ithaca Model 37. I recently purchased a home defense shotgun for, well, home defense and recreational shooting. It is the Benelli Super Nova Tactical. It is as soft a shooting 12 as I've ever fired. Smooth action, Nice trigger. And it will group Remington Slugger slugs very tightly at 50 yard (haven't shot it past that, yet). And so ugly its pretty.

other then the AA-12
i personally always go with mossberg, the only other brand i would even consider would be h&r, even tho they are now owned by remington, ive personally never liked remington, and own 3 mossbergs, a 500(old style with the c-lect choke) an 835( with slug barrel, and reg. barrel both ported) and i just parted with a 385(bolt action) ive just always loved the feel of a mossberg over anything else and that includes ben, and beretta. and to me its always about what im comfortable with if i dont feel comfortable with the firearm i know i wont perform as well as if i am comfortable with it, and i have always just stuck with mossberg, i guess because that was what my dad gave me. even tho he uses an older winchester that they dont make any more(semi auto) but i just love everything about mossberg expecially the ambi. safety
