The “Assault Weapon” Rebellion

The “Assault Weapon” Rebellion
http://townhall.com/tipsheet/townhallma ... n-n1822409

I found this interesting:
The government of Connecticut can’t threaten the citizenry with criminal charges. They’ve already willingly decided to become felons en masse. The government can’t threaten the citizenry with force. They’re both grossly outnumbered and outgunned. The government can’t offer an amnesty. It would only reinforce how little power the government has over a rebellious citizenry.
While Connecticut is thought to have something less than 400,000 firearms classified as “assault weapons” under their law, New York is thought to have as many as 1 million firearms meeting New York’s revised criteria.
Cuomo faces an even bigger registration problem in New York than Malloy did in Connecticut because many of New York’s sheriffs are in near open revolt against the SAFE Act, and have stated publicly that they will not enforce it. While they have been less publicly vocal, New York State Troopers have quietly indicated that they, too, will do as little as possible to enforce the law.

All this government overreaching is having an interesting side effect; people are starting to actually stand up for themselves.

No there not... A group merges on a cattle ranch during an isolated event is not enough of an indicator that people are doing anything. If we start seeing the same thing over and over on different situations then maybe we can say, people are starting to stand up for themselves.

Not being argumentative, just my observation.

I'm agreeing with Justin...

I like what I see, but until I see MORE, and CONSTANT? I'm seeing the 2% that started the American Revolution, not the en masse group that drove the British home to England.

I would like to see everyone whose standing up to these azzhatz vote for someone who will make a difference, but I don't think they will.

Wait... whoa, whoa, whoa... what did you say Rev? Vote for someone who is not going to fill the outstretched hand? Preposterous! There are 160 million freeloaders.... errr, citizens who need your hard earned money and the unbiased voters need to act in the best interest of the minority... so they can become... well... the majority. How the hell else can we turn this once free Constitutional Republic into a socialist utopia? sheesh!

That was a decent size gathering; with folks trucking in from out of state, prepared to do battle with the Federal Government. Openly prepared, at that.

I'm not saying that we've got a bonafide trend going on, but between this, the NY sheriff's, and those folks in Connevcticut. .. things are starting to happen.

I think that more and more people are slooowwwly starting to recognize that the government is over reaching.

I hope that the rancher doesn't let his guard down. I'd hate to read that his family died in a surprise raid, 6 months down the road.

I think it is an indicator, and a move in the positive direction, but not necessarily a sign that "people are getting fed up", more like *some* people are getting fed up.

Im not being argumentative, Im glad to have seen it happen, Im just playing devil's advocate and making an observation.
