Uninstalling Firefox from all systems...
Uninstalling Firefox from all systems...
It was nice having Firefox around as an alternate browser, but it wasn't my favorite. The fact that some of this attack came from within Mozilla helped me decide. Clearly "tolerance" only extends to those who agree with certain points of view.

Jimmy, what do you recommend for a replacement? Internet Exploder is awful, and Chrome feeds directly into Google's spy machine.

I use Chrome because it has the best internal security model. All of the data from all of them goes somewhere.
I don't use Windows at all when given a choice.

There is Opera, but it is slower than IE. In fact, IE is faster than all of them. There is also Safari, but I don't recommend it. Clunky and has some bugs. I have 30 years in the field and I run IE.
Re: Uninstalling Firefox from all systems...
Not sure what field you mean friend, but NO ONE in security is running anything that runs IE. But you go with whatever works for you. I have to admit that IE on Win8 seems OK performance-wise. I can also say all this because I'm not the guy who has to support 10s of thousands of users and their issues. I'd be more of an M$FT fan if I worked in Support.HighExpert wrote: I have 30 years in the field and I run IE.

Jim, I picked Microsoft to specialize my area of expertise because they have the largest market share with the worst possible product. I know I will always have a job. LoL

Anyway I use Firefox and Chrome, Interchangeably...
There where a few other browsers, but I'm not sure there still around..
If you don't like IE or Safari ... Opera is prob your best bet..
Tho I don't' think Id give up on this software.. because of some idiots at the company had some personal vendetta against the guy.
besides its free...

Re: Uninstalling Firefox from all systems...
I've preferred Firefox since I was introduced to it, a few years back.
I can't stand IE, and I won't touch Chrome with my enemy's computer.
Maybe that former Mozilla ceo will create his own browser.

At work we have a supplier relationship with a Fortune 500 company that has all kinds of internet portals because it saves them staff expense, and we have some customers that have web site where they basically host invoice and payment functions. A lot of those sites seem to only be fully compatible with IE, and some of them just won't talk to anything else.

I work for a fortune 500 company that provides software engineering services in the private and military sectors, yet half of our internal portal websites will only work with IE, including our time cards and pay stubs. It drives me insane (and is a little embarrassing, honestly) that these websites aren't designed to be cross-browser compatible.dorminWS wrote:At work we have a supplier relationship with a Fortune 500 company that has all kinds of internet portals because it saves them staff expense, and we have some customers that have web site where they basically host invoice and payment functions. Haven't actually used Firefox in years, but I uninstalled it anyway.

I have the same situation at work, but they're paying me to use their preferred tools. What I do on my own nickel is another story.allingeneral wrote:I work for a fortune 500 company that provides software engineering services in the private and military sectors, yet half of our internal portal websites will only work with IE, including our time cards and pay stubs. Firefox is a better browser than Chrome and IE isnt an option for me as I dont run Windows. I could care less what the guy sends money too. It's free & open source software. Not using it doesn't hurt them.j1mmyd wrote:It was nice having Firefox around as an alternate browser, but it wasn't my favorite. YUP! I'd trust the NSA physically in my house more than use google products. Minus my Android phone which is heavily hacked and not "leaking".FiremanBob wrote:Jimmy, what do you recommend for a replacement? Internet Exploder is awful, and Chrome feeds directly into Google's spy machine.
