So I assume he ran his plates to know he had a CC.

Should be easy to find a lawyer to take this lawsuit.

Read this earlier when NRA posted it on FB. Ridiculous. I'm sure he ran his plates and saw the CC. Probably thought he'd catch the driver with a gun. I've warned my dad about driving up from FL with his CC and gun to NY and I told him don't go it--too much unfriendly territory.

The
strongly suggest that the adult leadership in the PD knows that they are vulnerable to a lawsuit...apologies from the officer’s captain as well as from a Maryland Transportation Authority Police internal affairs captain

What a bunch of crap! I hope he sues the hell out of those guys. I be willing to bet he got attention for the out of state plates and there was zero justification for a stop, making 100% of everything the transpired illegal activity.

That just makes me super mad. We have to travel north all the time. We always leave our guns at home and the though of being harrassed simply because I have a CHL is ridiculous.

For anyone who wasn't raised in NJ, I was, it is difficult to fathom the depths to which LE will stoop. The NJ state troopers are the worst of any LEO's I have encountered. I hope the guys wife learned a lesson about talking to police. A video posted on this site (some professor somewhere) says that people almost can't help themselves. Everyone wants to tell their story. That's just what the cops want to hear.
I hope he sues the chicken-poop out of those commie bastards.

Can't sue the KKKops; only the taxpayers who they feed off of.

Re: Maryland, Ya'll see this?
Same thing happened to me in Maryland, though it was not nearly as hostile. The cop came back to tell me that I had a CCW and that I was required by law to tell him (not really... It's a VA permit, not MD). He then asked if I was carrying. I told him, why would I do that in MD?
This discussion went on a few minutes and then he went back to the 35 mph in 25 mph blah blah blah...
Same people; transportation authority.

If you want total security, go to prison. There you're fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking... is freedom.

The United Soviet Socialist Republic of Maryland.
Can we hang this sign at all our state border crossings?

BTW... I found this on the wall of the men's room in a Sears in Maryland. This is ridiculous.

Used to be some good duck and goose hunting out on the Eastern Shore. Other than that and just to get on the other side of that pest-hole, I agree.

I take the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to get to the Eastern Shore. It's pretty much the same mileage from my starting point to go either direction, and going that way allows me to be free and able to defend myself while on my journey.dorminWS wrote:>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Snakester wrote:I can't think of one single reason to go to Maryland !

When we drive to Michigan, we take the cut thru Berkeley Springs to Hancock to PA so our time in MD is limited to a few minutes.
I agree with Kreutz - public employees need to be personally accountable when it comes to misconduct. Hiding behind shield laws designed to protect them against frivolous lawsuits from criminals is crap.

I can think of one good thing to go to Maryland, they have a really good renn faire. However, since they lost their gadamma minds? I won't step across their border, even though I miss my "renn girl" fix.

I agree. It's a false arrest and I doubt the officer was working within department policies; which means he may not be protected by qualified immunity laws; which mean he could be held personally liable. Of course the deep pockets are the actual government agencies involved.FiremanBob wrote:Should be easy to find a lawyer to take this lawsuit.
