New Ruger Red Label O/U

Post by jhuppdog »

I am looking to buy one of the new Ruger Red Label shotguns but I haven't been able to locate one to try out. I have found plenty for sale on the internet but I want to make sure I like the way the gun fits me as well as the fit and finish.

Has anyone seen these?

I'm in the Richmond area.

Come to think of it I haven't seen one in person yet. Let me know when you find one, I haven't met a ruger product I didn't think was decent.

Dick's in Colonial Hghts. had an All Weather / Stainless / Black Stock....Really nice looking and well balanced. I thought it was a Stoeger...Pleasantly surprised it was a Ruger. That was right after Thanksgiving , it was gone right after that. Someone got a great Christmas gift !

I thought the Red Label O/U only came in wood stock and blued barrels?

They made a special All-weather version a couple years ago that was matte stainless with black synthetic stock and forearm. They were targeting the duck hunters.

They weren't producing for few years, guess they decided to restart production but it will be a while before they are produced in big numbers again.
Green Top says it has one used, probably one of the older models, nothing new but if its anything like the old one at least you could pick it up.

I was at Greentop yesterday and they showed me the used Red Label your talking about. Unfortunately someone had cut the stock down so the length of pull was reduced. The salesman informed me they don't typically sell Ruger so I would have to special order one. I want to make sure I like the gun before I order and am stuck with it.

Length of pull is 14.5" on all of the new models, if you can compare it to something else you own.
