WTF? I didn't think I would spend around $100 on a belt, but I might. I am looking for a good reinforced gun belt, made in USA. I found http://www.thebeltman.net/
When I set it to my size, and 1.5 inches, add a reinforcement etc... its about $90. Has any one purchased from these people before? I need a good gun belt, so let me know what you would recommend.
Thanks
$100 belt?!? ?!
Re: $100 belt?!? ?!
After looking more I found : http://www.daltechforce.com/ its a bit cheaper, any other ideas?
Re: $100 belt?!? ?!
There is a guy that comes to the gunshows in Va he sells alot of belts and buckles. Looks like a Harley Davidson area. The belts he sell are some of the best I've ever had. All leather, none of that crap with cardboard sandwiched between them, and you can get a heavy duty buckle as well. Price for the belt is 26.00. He will also stamp your name in it or what ever word you want, and i do mean any word you want.
Ive even seen belts that were identical to his selling in the Harley Davidson store on Rt 1 in Hanover for 89.99. I guess having that stamped on them makes it more expensive.

Re: $100 belt?!? ?!
CORRECT!
Having made a stuff in the past as a parttime thing... Making you a simple belt with dye, and fitting a buckle? Less than 20 minutes...
Add stamping, reinforcements with thread, rivets, and chicago screws? You just made it a 2 HOUR job at the least, and at $33 an hour for labor for all that custom work? Yeah. That job just got 'spensive.
And that's not even considering the belt blanks are running $40 a pop online right now, and not including the belt buckle!

Have one, like it a bunch. Makes a big difference in gear stability.
if you are looking for a gun belt get the 5 stitch upgrade. Big difference in stiffness for not much cost (free right now).
Also keep in mind if you're putting 2 lbs of pistol, ammo and holster on any belt its going to sag if you don't fasten it tightly.

I get mine from Looper LE. They are about $55. They have different styes available since I got mine a couple years ago. Aside from the crease where it goes into the buckle it still looks/works like new.
They appear to be sold by blade tech now. The old site I used only has the women's products. Here is a review with a link to order.

Might want to order a size or two bigger than usual. It said to measure and order the size you measure. I tried that and got one way to small. Measuring put me a size smaller than my pants size. They happily exchnaged it (and covered shipping) for one a size bigger than my pants and it fits perfectly.

The Beltman make a good belt. You might be able to find similar quality bull hide belts for a little less other places, but not much less for the same quality.

I ordered my http://www.daltechforce.com/ belt. So far I have been happy with it. I found 10% off online so it came to $54. It has the reinforced center and double layer leather, plus made in USA so that's great!
Re: $100 belt?!? ?!
When I ordered an Old Faithful holster, I got a belt from them as well. The belt is made by A Better Belt USA. Finished belts through oldfaithfulholsters.com are $70 for up to 48" with an extra $5 for up to 58" and an extra $10 for 60-70". The undyed belt kit is $39.97 for up to 48". Double stitching adds $5 and kydex sandwiched between the two layers of leather adds $10.Hammer wrote:I recenyly purchased abetterbeltusa.com. Very stiff bull hide. Big difference with my 1911.
