WTB- Ruger 22/45 MK3 parts

Post by shinyribs »

Hello guys, long time since I've been on here. :) Happy Holiday's to you all!

I bought my girlfriend a MK3 LITE for Christmas at a great price, but now I know why...it needs some work.

1-The latch on the main spring/break down lever is broken.
2-The hammer pivot pin is bent.

All the other parts seem to be fine. I have no idea what happened to this gun,but I'd like to get it up and running for her to go to the range soon.

I've gone to Numrich and other places to order these parts but none of the pictures seem to match the hammer pin this gun has. My pin is a straight pin with no head or button, whereas all the pins I see for sale have a head on them?

Also, the mainspring assy latches I have been finding don't look exactly like mine either. I hate to buy an entire mainspring assy ($50+)when I only need the latch(~$5). I don't really NEED to replace this latch since I can use a small tool inside the grip to release the latch, but since it's her gun I'd like to make it nice for her.

So, any heads up on what I've got ? Anyone have any parts for sale?

Thanks for reading! -Eric

p.s.- I already have the mag disconnect removal bushing on the way. Ugh...what a horrible feature!

For reference, I need part 44 and part 60 off this schematic: https://www.gunpartscorp.com/Manufactur ... -35115.htm

But when I go to order the parts off this link the pictured parts look vastly different. It may just be a picture misrepresentation issue, I'm just afraid to pull the trigger to find out.

Have you tried ordering directly from Ruger? I cleaned and repaired a pair of Mark 1's (regular grip tapered barrel) which were in dire straights, 2 years ago maybe. Ruger had a recoil spring for the one, in stock, and I believe I was only charged for shipping.

Thanks for the reply!

I actually jumped on the lathe this evening and just made a new hammer pivot pin, so that's all good now and the gun is up and shooting again.

It's amazing the amount of muzzle flash this little sucker puts out...

The mainspring latch is the only part I'm wanting now.
