Maybe we should flip this around and ask members on here which guns did not handle the steel ammo well? I know I have shot a fair amount of Steel mixed with brass case ammo through my Bushmaster AR, and never had an issue. To keep cost down, I usually mix a few boxes of each brass and steel together at the ranges. Of course like others have stated, the Saiga runs through it with no issues.

Which guns do NOT shoot the steel well?

I love my Mini-14. Eats anything. The newer models are not the wildly inaccurate rifle of the past.

Sig 556. The Mini14 choice is limited to proprietary magazines, not to mention a very limited (compared to other designs) aftermarket.

However, my personal experience doesn't agree with the gas piston limitation. Just get a good AR, make sure the chamber is a true 5.56mm NATO chamber (you can have it reamed to this), set up the extractor right, and enjoy your savings over a Sig or Mini14.

Gas pistons designs are NOT a magical panacea to fixing stuck steel cases; the tapered design of the Soviet cartridges is and the stuck case thing is wildly over exaggerated in my personal experience of using Wolf for years in ARs and Glocks.

I know an AR that wouldn't handle steel cased very well: R-Guns... Got one off of a trade a few years back. It was absolute garbage. Sold it for more than it was worth during the panic. Even though I told the guy all about it. He didn't care, he just wanted an AR.

My Daniel Defense M4v1 and BCM Recce 14 handle it very well. The wolf is better than Tula as I've found Tula to be grossly under-pressured.

Regardless, I try to stick with brass cased
I had a SCAR 17 and 16. I also had a bunch of Glocks and a couple H&K pistols. Oh and a DDM4, but I sold everything when our government told me these dangerous tools can actually hurt someone. Apparently they grow legs and go on killing sprees.
