The Republican National Committee bemoaned its lack of outreach to minorities during the presidential campaign, but after some very public soul-searching, it’s not just Hispanic, black or Asian communities the RNC is making a concerted effort to court — it’s their own base.
The RNC has effectively brought on a “liaison” to Tea Party and other conservative groups. Their hire, Mike Mears, comes with a long track record in the conservative movement after the RNC realized it needed to “take care of their own.”
Perhaps Senate Minority leader needs to get a call from them and get the memo. This week he said the Tea Party are bullies that need a punch to the nose.

If you thought the GOP political establishment was going to use the Obamacare disaster to rally the American people against big government, you were dead wrong.

They blame people like you and me for the unpopularity of the Republican Party. They believe candidates who will stand up to Barack Obama and demand the end of Obamacare "hurt the GOP brand."
That’s why they are primarying fellow-Republican Justin Amash. Congressman Amash is one of the most articulate and fearless pro-liberty leaders in the House of Representatives. He tells it like it is. He FIGHTS!
But the ruling class hates leaders like that. So they will spend millions trying to throw Congressman Amash out of office.
And he’s not their only target.
They are mobilizing to destroy Lindsey Graham’s conservative opponents.
They are savaging Matt Bevin, who is challenging Mitch McConnnell.
They are even attacking Tea Party candidates in open seats!
We must support true conservative candidates against the establishment’s onslaught.
Please do what you can. Our Tea Party candidates are counting on people like you and me to stand by them this election season.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee has pledged to spend millions helping Establishment incumbent Republicans like Mitch McConnell win nomination fights next year.
And big-business special interests are pooling their money in order to “take back” the Republican Party from grassroots “extremists.”
We must fight back, and fight back hard.

And again... Perfect example of the GOP showing its true colors. Tea Party folks need to just up and leave--either form your own party of join with another established party and ignore the "lesser of two evils" BS the GOP will toss out there to get you back.
The GOP was founded on destroying the Constitution and BoR (starting with the 10th Amendment). If you think they're any different now, wake up.

I think the Tea Party should remain. Stand and Fight!
There is no reason that they cannot run for the various primaries, and if they lose the primary, run on their own. Also, the Tea Party candidates could request funding to be sent directly to them, rather than the Rs in general, when they win the primary.
Running the primary gets the attention of the Rs who are voting. Then running in the R party may bring in funding, but we circumvent the cuccinelli-type defunding by then campaigning for direct contributions.
Seems to me the tea party members are the most logical and understandable people out there, and if they did this, the vast majority would simply donate directly when they were reached out to.

The Tea Party could take over the GOP. The Libertarian couldn't and hasn't provided an effective alternative.
Seems conservatives would rather jaw jack on line while they chew off their own leg, rather than facing the progressive monolith and fighting the battle for say 10 or 20 years.

As long as TPs remain in the Republican Party, nothing will change because they will still vote for the R desire being raped by the leadership. Best approach would be for the TP to form their own party and pull out of the progressive Republican Party.
Frankly, I don't want to have them in the Liibertarian Party because of the extreme religious right faction. Liberty includes freedom from busybodies who think they know better how to live my life. That aspect alone is why hardcore Libertarians refuse to support Republicans...a religious tyranny is just as bad as a progressive one.

Really, then you have not heard of San Antonio which now if you are personally opposed to homosexuality you are "persona non grata" in that city gov't. Genuflect to the liberal code of celebration of sodomy or be fired.
Then, you have not heard of the ACA (Obama care) which forces Catholic hospitals and catholic in general to purchase and fund abortion and abortifacient birth control. Bow at the death cult of the democrats or be cut off.
Then, you have not heard of the many cases recently of chaplains/lay persons within the military facing dismissal for having a real faith. Kneel at the altar of secular statism or lose your livelihood.
In this day and age if you disagree that depravity should be encouraged you are shunned, called names, if not worse. The liberals are just as voracious as any Puritan ever was.
Incidentally the Puritans are far different than Nathaniel Hawthorns' 'Scarlet Letter' indicated. As I have learned recently by reading some of their literature on human rights. They were very forward thinking in their thoughts on human rights.

...and every example cited has noting to do with Liberty, but with Progressive tyranny.
Again...you're advocating for the tyranny that is opposite the tyranny from the other side. Both of you are guilty of pushing through legislation that forces your philosophy/doctrine onto everyone.
Cry innocence all you want, the real problem lies at the extremes in both directions.

The problem lies in the federal gov't having enormous powers to coerce either way.
The problem lies in a people that value license over liberty, and cannot distinguish between the two.
The problem lies in a people that are addicted to pleasure, entertainment, vice, and have no sense of self-government, therefore permitting and encouraging the infantilism and paternal statism we see rampant in our society.
You said you have never seen anyone force immoral behavior on anyone. I offered three very real examples of that happening in the past 3 years.

The problem REALLY lies in the fact the Tea Party, and Libertarian party haven't JOINED together, JOINED local GOP organizations...
AND TAKEN THE GOP OVER!
When I joined? I was the LONE libertarian, and have VERY few folks siding with me! They were all about "the machine", and "Whose turn" it was in being nominated.
All it would take is the TEA PARTY, and LIBERTARIANS to join en mass and take over a PRIMARY! That's it! Singularly done!
Watch the sparks fly, and then when you have your candidate, and the NATIONAL PARTY doesn't do a freakin' thing for you? (AKA KEN CUCC')... DONATE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!
Ken wasn't perfect, had some issues, but the way he was treated by the NATIONAL PARTY made me sick.
The two have much in common. We should concentrate on the areas of agreement before the republic is lost.
