Tell me about West Virginia

Post by PhantomPhixer »

I'll admit that for my whole life, I've had my share of laughs and poking fun at West Virginia. Still, living just a stone's throw from the border, there has always been a part of me that envied the natural beauty and the seeming lack of budget and regulation.

Now that I'm older and hopefully wiser, what can you folks tell me about our neighbor to the West?

I hate auto correct and that the mobile version of this site has no edit button.

That is crazy. Talk about tyranny of the minority.

Spend some time looking at crime rates in these blue areas. Not surprising, but interesting.

not crazy that the blue areas carry elections. They have the greatest density of population. you don't vote by the acre but by the person.

Yeah what troubles me about that map is the solid blue band through the Southern states.

The blue represents a cancer. It's been spreading for years.
I had a SCAR 17 and 16. I also had a bunch of Glocks and a couple H&K pistols. Oh and a DDM4, but I sold everything when our government told me these dangerous tools can actually hurt someone. Apparently they grow legs and go on killing sprees.

Here - I fixed it for you. Added the top 15 metropolitan areas by population.

Notice how all except Pheonix are blue...

What I found interesting is there are only 2 completely red states. Other areas you can see where there just are not any jobs and rely on government assistance to survive or border states where the illegal population have taken over local politics.

Blue = peeps that can't take care of themselves when the pookie hits the blades.

That why they won't vote themselves off the guvteat.

I went rafting on the New River in 2012, then rafted the Gauley River this year. Both awesome experiences want to go back and kayak them. Also spent some time on Summersville lake, its amazing deep lots of fun to be had. And they have Snow Shoe Mountain. I would love to live there but VA is still better. I think they are a little more progressive than you might think.

Been on the Gauley in October when they drain the reservoir. It's a scream! If you take Rt. 50 out of Winchester and head towards Paw-Paw you go through the Cheat River Valley. Absolutely breath-taking. And ya gotta love a place where you can shoot trespassers and ask 'em for ID afterwards.
