I think it's safe to say all new 9mm pocket pistols are on recall! First the Shield and now this? At least their owning up to it.

Thankfully, our Shields have been fine and did not need to be recalled.

I wonder if I should wait a Few Months for the Rush to settle down?

My understanding is it can supposedly fire when releasing the Slide and also Fire Multiple times, I say Supposedly because there has not been any Reported incidents. SA is just being Pro-Active I guess.

Two incidents of full-auto were posted on the XD Talk forum along with several instances of mulitple fires.

Springfield is estimating a 30 day turn at their recall FAQ's section here:
http://www.springfieldrecall.com/Recall%20FAQ.asp

Springfield, by their own admission, was swamped with returns this past week.

Sent mine in last Sat. after debating to hold off but decided to go ahead pending a holster for it coming in approx. 3 weeks and I wouldn't be carrying it until then anyway. I bought it new less than a week before the recall announcement and only have 50 rounds through it but it shoots nice and had no malfunctions.

Mine came home this past Wed. Disappointed in the trigger after the "upgrade".

Why the disappointment? Just curious as I was actually assuming the trigger would go south after the fix. The XDs had a good trigger due to the overall design of what needed to be "fixed".
I had a SCAR 17 and 16. I also had a bunch of Glocks and a couple H&K pistols. Oh and a DDM4, but I sold everything when our government told me these dangerous tools can actually hurt someone. Apparently they grow legs and go on killing sprees.

Whelp, Waiting for the inital Rush to be over was a waste, Sent mine in at the beginning of November, Still waiting. Got an Email yesterday that said there's a backlog on parts to fix them, So expect to wait longer.

I would have thought that by now, Springfield would have gotten it together, Afterall, They knew how many guns they produced in advance, knew how many parts they needed to order to fix said guns, Sounds to me like they really don't have a Clue.

It's a shame, Because the XDs is a pretty nice gun, apparently Springfield needs to hire some better Engineers and more importantly better PR reps.

They definately dropped the ball on this one.
