Shooting on Leased Property

Post by Que »

Alright guys, I may have another question as it relates to Virginia law. I'm trying to find a home to lease when I move to Blacksburg and I'm interested in possibly building a small range. I know the owner must first agree to this, but are there any ordinances against shooting on private or leased property in Virginia? I know each city/town is different, but I would assume a rural community would be welcoming to the prospect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Being a lessor should not change anything. If you can shoot on the land (e.g., not in the middle of downtown Richmond), you can shoot on the land.

I know it sounds like a dumb question, but I know different states have different rules. I believe there should only be one rule (freedom!), but many legislators disagree with me. Thanks for the help.
