Cop asked not to wear uniform at daughter's school

Post by OakRidgeStars »

Arizona police officer asked not to wear uniform at daughter’s school

We truly are living in bizarro world.

A little reminder of just what responsible gun-owning parents face when it comes to carrying their legal handgun on school property. I see pigs flying over the faculty parking lot before that ever happens.

I hope he accepts their invitation on one condition: that he is allowed to show up in full uniform with his sidearm. Otherwise, I'd refuse and pull my kid from that school so fast they'd wonder what the hell happened.

I'm surprised that there isn't much talk on this site about this. Why is he there with his child while in uniform anyway, is he working doing personal stuff while on the clock? If he isn't, shouldn't he still conform to the rules like everyone else since a school is a gun free zone! Maybe though the staff there knew or was friends with the teacher from culpeper and this is their way of getting back.

I find there are a certain type of people that think "fear" instead of "security" when they see cops and they're generally criminals.

So the women that were in the blue truck like Christopher Dorners would you consider them to be thinking "FEAR" or "SECURITY", when a couple of NAZI'S just opened up on them?

What the hell is our country turning into?

According to Az code, it doesn't matter if a cop is on or off the clock, they can still carry in k-12 schools.

Criminals, illegal aliens (the story is about AZ), and libertarians...at least fear of unlawful harassment.

Am I being detained?

Didn't the SCOTUS recently rule that as soon as a cop obtains your license you are officially detained? Maybe that's why there are no more "safety" roadblocks here in Warren County. Or maybe the Sheriff no longer sees the utility in them.

This certainly is an opportunity for a teachable moment. The lesson ought to be that silly bastard hasn't got enough sense or judgment to be a school principal. They ought to transfer him to the custodial staff, put him on a 25-hour work week at minimum wage and let him scrub toilets.

""We apologize that he took the discussion the wrong way perhaps, that was not the intent of the principal to offend him," said Hollands."

"We", every one involved on the education side of this incident, should be let go. They are, obviously, lacking sense enough to associate with children in an education setting.

I lose respect for the Educational Administration every time they speak.

The teachers? You have a 50/50 shot of them being cool... The admins? Rarely. It's a position of power, they enjoy excising it.
