I'm voting for Ken, too, though I'm voting for him because I like him. Unfortunately, I also agree with you that the carpetbagger has this election wrapped up. But, whatever the case may be, I ALWAYS vote and I am voting again irregardless of how the polls look.vaeevictiss wrote:I'm voting for Ken. Not because I want to, but because I have to to preserve gun rights for another round.
That being said, with all the TMac support in the highly populated areas, I just see no way Ken can win this.
I'm sure it will look just like the obama map did. Nova/cville/Richmond will be blue and that's what counts.
It will take a lot for me to believe we can recover what we have lost at this point and if TMac wins I won't be surprised. I've really lost faith in VA voters.

How much can it help though? The media has done everything they could over the last year especially, to make the nra look like baby killing, racist, rapists. It could work against us too. if a lefty sees that add they will automatically vote for the guy the nra is bashing.

Those that would reflexively vote against the NRA already know to look for the blue "D". The ads might influence someone more to the center who cares about his/her gun rights. It would be like Hillary doing an ad for T-Mac - wouldn't change our opinion one bit.vaeevictiss wrote:How much can it help though? No anger here, I'm the happiest warrior in the Commonwealth. Re-read the thread if you must, but I have not made a single personal comment about anyone here. I only comment about what people say on the topic; that is, I criticize the positions some may take, but I don't make it personal. It isn't my problem if a few others can't respect the time-honored rules of fair debate.

This seals it for my vote for Ken:
http://terrymcauliffe.com/investing-in- ... n-centers/
para. 5c: Support common sense gun control measures
As Governor, Terry will support mainstream and majority supported gun control measures like universal background checks, limiting the size of magazines, and a return to the 1-gun-per-month rule. These measures respect Virginians’ right to bear arms while reducing gun violence.
Today when I hear "common sense", regardless of the subject, I cringe. Respecting my rights while restricting/infringing them with a bogus claim? I don't think so.

Interesting... care to put some parameters behind this "unelectable" other than "I am not willing to vote for someone that's not a Republican"?
As for Sarvis,
Not worked for or been associated with Clintons... CHECK!
Not taken funds or stocks from corporate interests that seem very inappropriate for the current office.... CHECK!
Most Pro-2A response to the VCDL candidate survey (despite VCDL-PAC endorsement of the AG (WTF?))... CHECK!
Not bent on enforcing tenets of his religion via legislation (We get upset when it's Sharia, but not Catholicism?)... CHECK!
Pro business... CHECK!
Pro small government... CHECK!
Pro school choice... CHECK!
Pro home school... CHECK!
Opposed to universal comprehensive health care... CHECK!
Reduce bureaucracy in state transportation... CHECK!

...and given the AG's stance on reproductive choice, same-sex marriage, and his definition of unnatural acts to include oral sex between man and wife, do you not think the definition:
"a Roman Catholic who was a strong advocate of the papacy"
fits?
I have nothing against Catholics in general, but when one of them starts trying to make laws out of their religious tenets, then I take issue.

I'm just messing with ya, everyones entitled to their own opinions, biases, and ideas.
Plus I rarely get to use a phrase like "wanton Popery" in the course of a day, so may as well grab it when I can.

SI and trailrunner: thanks for making the effort. And if you actually read those posts, you will note that I criticize what you said, rather than who you are. That is the essential difference.
I could insert a couple of snappy putdowns here, but we're above that on this forum.
SI, your post about not having seen any facts is illogical. You didn't ask me for any facts. But I did ask you for some, to support your accusations against Cuccinelli. I am the one who has yet to see facts, not you.
I suggest that this is a good time for us to stop focusing on each other and concentrate on keeping McAwful out of our government.

Even in the face of unambiguous evidence (your own posts), you deny, and try to cling to the moral high ground.FiremanBob wrote:SI and trailrunner: thanks for making the effort. And if you actually read those posts, you will note that I criticize what you said, rather than who you are.
Read the highlights below. These are examples of you NOT attacking the idea.

Eh. Even I think that's a pretty weak case against Bob if that's what you're using to accuse him of making personal attacks.

I reckon that this dead hoss has been beat into a pile of furry meat mush.
Those of us who are voting KC won't be changing our minds, and neither are those who wish to vote for Sarvis.
That's the thing with all of us independently minded folk; we tend to be downright headstrong. That has been a source of friction, when it comes to matters of public policy, for quite some time.
