His hand was in an $18k cookie jar. Not sure why you are doubting that at this point.
He sure should have paid it back with his personal funds. I don't see why that's a noteworthy thing to do. One (or several) of the gifts he accepted was to put his family up at a lake house for a summer vacation. That sounds shady from beginning to end. Why can't he just pay for a vacations himself like the rest of us do, instead of accepting a gift from a stranger -- a stranger who happens to be a person who could benefit from KC's position. Sorry, it just doesn't pass my simple-minded ethics test, no matter how anyone tries to spin it. Just plain wrong.
Since you obviously believe the Liberals talking points, have you bothered to check on Ken's side of the story regarding the gifts?
http://www.cuccinelli.com/star-scientific/. Also, please state how Jonnie Williams has actually benefited from any relationship with Ken. The answer is zero.
The gift culture in politics has been around for pretty much eternity. Every Governor we have had in recent memory has taken tens of thousands of dollars of gifts, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars of gifts. There is actually nothing illegal in accepting gifts, it is illegal if there is a quid pro quo. If you want the laws to change on gits, then Ken is the only person right now actually calling for a change to the laws. Gov McDonnell isn't, neither is Lt. Gov Bolling, and you don't hear anything from either of our U.S. Senators or Terry McAwful about changing the current laws.
The only thing Ken did wrong was not report the gifts on time, and he rectified that quickly. Look at the magnitude of all the other gifts our previous governors have received before and during their governorships, the amount Ken has received is way lower then the majority of them and not even in the same order of magnitude as the previous 2 Governor's and our current one.
Ken is the most Liberty minded person we have had run for higher office in VA in our lifetime. Are we really going to sink him, to our detriment as Virginia Citizens, based on some trumped up liberal talking points which use the stupidity of our current Governor to smear Ken?
