Define a "large percentage". There are over 1.6 billion Muslims.
If even 1% were busily murdering other people for simply not sharing their views I think 16,000,000 Muslims (roughly twice the pop. of this state and 16 times the size of our entire military) drenched in blood would be kind of hard to ignore.
Maybe percentage was a bad choice of words. It's more brute numbers and honestly, it depends on the source you choose to reference. Most sources I have seen estimate 1.7 million militant Muslims with over 500,000 specifically being members of the Muslim Brotherhood and that doesn't include possible sympathizers.
It's not 16 million, but that is still more than the entire US military. If the security of our country is to be preserved against this enemy of peace and it came to an all-out war with the militant Muslims, I don't think we would be able to win without the support of the UN.
Also, Muslims like every other immigrant group tend to suffer a dissipation of identity by the third generation.
I haven't heard of any Christians killing other groups simply because they are not Christians. With the exception of the Crusades, they have not been known to have a military set either. The Crusades were a 200 year conflict and ended 718 years ago. When the Crusades started, it was in response to Muslims attacking Jewish and Christian people and it was a matter of excommunication of Muslims for self preservation.
In modern America, the problem I see is we are still seeing a large number of fresh migrants annually of which some of them are still towing the line on this near 1.5 millennium war against non-Muslims. Plus, the issues is not necessarily domestic US, but more of a global concern. Muslims have been combatant against all other religions globally and continuously for over 1390 years. That is a long, bloody history. Again, it's obvious its not all Muslims, but it is a big number and for a very long time.
An interesting article on young Muslims and the need for American born imams, apparently the Muslims are having much of the same problem with getting young people involved as mainline Christian and Jewish denominations. Over time religion just becomes less relevant in America.

Like I said in my earlier posts... anyone who comes to the US and becomes a citizen or is born in the US are entitled all the blessing of being a part of this country. However, if they become criminal, they forfeit those rights. I do not advocate not trusting or stripping rights because of stereotypes.
That was a good story BTW. Thanks for sharing the link.
