Already trying to structure the excuses for a Republican loss. Funny how someone who does participate in the voting process could be looked down on as being worse than someone who chose to sit home and not participate. But you know, with that line of thinking of "it's everyone else's fault for my loss" no wonder support for Republican candidates continues to dwindle.

All I know is that Democratic voters will turn out and vote D. Libertarian voters will turn out and vote L. If Republican voters don't turn out to vote R, what does that say about the candidate?

I keep telling my friends that are full boat Libertarians that the easiest path to the Libertarian platform is the republican party most times but there are some big government Republicans that throw a wrench in that argument.

I think the key is we all need to vote and also encourage others to get out there even if Cuccinelli isn't everything they want.

I can't believe we are even at this point where we are seriously at risk of losing Virginia.

I second that statement. The way I look at it. I can have a candidate that I agree with 30% of the time if I am lucky (D), a candidate that I probably agree with 70% of the time (R) or a candidate that I agree with probably 85% of the time but has a 99 44/100% chance of not being elected(L) . Realistically if people really want the Libertarian party to take off and become relevant, they have to start winning local elections, then those folks need to run for House of Representatives and then Senate seats. There is just no way they are going to win the Governorship or Presidency without any lower office presence.

Following democrap direction in order to elect the liberal progressine via the democrap smear/lie campaigns is the issue. That being the case I see those who vote for a 3rd party candidate who cannot possibly win because of dumbocrat smears /lies as entirely equal to those who give up and don't vote because "they're all the same". Socialist domocats don't do that. They back an agenda defray the opposition and follow the Saul Alinsky rules for radicals to marginalize then demonize, then defeat their opponents.

If you feel above the fray by trumpeting your ethical decision please remember you lost. If we follow that lead we'll be very proud of our personal ethics as we are manipulated into a soviet style socialist state. Remember, progressives will vote in a block for the candidate that will forward their agenda and put in a plan to change YOUR country. Even if the candidate is Snidely Whiplash.

Thing is, Cucinelli is not an idiot. He's pretty conservative and he has at least above average courage of his convictions. The reason main-line republican establishment types think he's an idiot is the same reason the Tea Party loves him; and on balance, it should (at least on non-social issues) make libertarians fell better about him than McAwfulip. In a very real way, Cucinelli's nomination represents the best and most visible progress strong conservatives AND libertarians have made against moderate/progressive republican hegemony over the conservative camp to date.
